Submerge them in water, and the colorful pellets included with the Orbeez Flower Power Light Show grow to up to 100 times their original size in just a few hours. Safe for kids five and older, these squishy, multicolored orbs create a kaleidoscopic light display on the ceiling of a darkened room when poured into the included Flower Power Light Show. Swirl the Orbeez around, and the Light Show's LED lights shine through them to create shifting patterns on the ceiling. Safe and non-toxic, Orbeez can be disposed of in the trash or yard once play is complete.
With water, the colorful pellets at the center of the flower expand to 100 times their size. View larger.
Orbeez Expand Dramatically in Water
When they add a packet of Orbeez to a bowl of water, children can watch the tiny, hard orbs expand to up to 100 times their original volume, creating a bowl of squishy, translucent, multicolored balls. Our testers found that the transformation process took about three to four hours with unfiltered tap water. The process was simple and mess free.
Each Orbeez Color Packet contains approximately 150 Orbeez and will produce about 3/4 of a cup of grown Orbeez. The manufacturer recommends using filtered water to grow Orbeez--the purer the water is, the larger the Orbeez will grow. Grown Orbeez can maintain their form for weeks if kept in a closed container away from heat and light.
Project a Colorful, Shifting Light Show on Your Ceiling
This kaleidoscopic toy uses LED lights to project a vibrant show onto the ceiling. View larger.
Pour the grown Orbeez into the Flower Power Light Show, turn off the lights, and watch the shifting colors projected onto the ceiling. Children ages five and older can leave the light on when it's time to go to bed for a unique liquid nightlight, watching the show as they fall asleep. The Light Show base shines a color-changing light through the swirling Orbeez, creating a kaleidoscopic display.
Dispose of Used Orbeez in the Trash or Yard
Orbeez are made of superabsorbent polymers and can grow up to 150 times their original volume in water. Originally invented for agricultural use, they absorb water when submerged and release it as they dry. This means adults can plant them in their yard to hydrate soil and conserve water usage. Orbeez can also be disposed of in the trash, but not via the sink, drain, or garbage disposal.
Experiment and Play Games with Orbeez
The Flower Power Light Show includes a 16-page activity booklet that suggests experiments and games that use grown Orbeez.
