Adventures by Disney, named the World’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator by the 2009 World Travel Awards, adds a new line of itineraries to its award-winning list of family vacations for summer 2010. Known as the Gateway Collection, these itineraries provide guests with more time on their own to explore the destinations and sites at their leisure. In conjunction with the added time, travelers receive the benefits of Adventures by Disney’s highly-trained Adventure Guides who are the concierges for each trip and are always available to provide recommendations and schedule reservations so guests receive the most during their vacation. Gateway to Adventure
Designed from Adventures by Disney’s current model, the Gateway Collection includes guided group vacations similar to the classic and signature itineraries at a lower cost while also featuring more free time. Guests will enjoy activities available as part of the itinerary, such as climbing the bell tower of Notre Dame in Paris and also have the flexibility to spend the afternoon exploring more of what interests them in the iconic destination at their leisure. All Gateway Collection itineraries feature Adventures by Disney‘s special touches called the “Disney Difference” and some VIP access into popular tourist attractions. On “Gateway to Costa Rica” guests are treated to a new destination that is not available on the classic itinerary. Adventures By Disney and Harper Collins Launch New ‘Flat Stanley’ Site, Announce Contest
WASHINGTON, Oct. 19 — One of the most adventurous characters in children’s literature, Flat Stanley, traveled to the prestigious Library of Congress today where he, along with the first three books in Flat Stanley’s Worldwide Adventures series, were inducted into the Library to help Adventures by Disney and HarperCollins Children’s Books celebrate an exciting new project called “The Search for Flat Stanley’s Next BIG Adventure.”
Due to his peculiar ability to be mailed to different locations, Stanley is the most well-traveled character in children’s literature, traveling around the world thousands of times annually in an educational project that has become a classic of the American classroom. Now budding writers and artists are invited to create their own Flat Stanley story in “The Search for Flat Stanley’s Next BIG Adventure.” In this nationwide contest, children ages 7 to 12 can win an Adventures by Disney vacation by creating a specially themed Flat Stanley and a 150-word story about his “Next BIG Adventure.”

Family Awarded Adventures by Disney Trip After Mary Poppin’s 1000th Performance
NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) — A New Jersey family was awarded a trip to Europe at the 1,000th performance of “Mary Poppins” on Broadway.
The Moore family, including 8-year-old twins, were brought up on stage at the New Amsterdam Theatre and presented with the vacation Thursday night, which was provided by the show and Adventures by Disney.
“To a shower of confetti following the curtain call, the Moore family of Marlboro, N.J., were brought on stage, visibly moved, as Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Productions, presented them with a 6-night/7-day vacation to London and Paris,” representatives of the family-friendly musical said in a news release. “The travel package will take the Moore family to the rooftops of London and beyond with a once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience in Europe, including a VIP backstage tour of the Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ in the West End; a visit to Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London; high-tea at the world-famous Harrods of Knightsbridge; lunch inside the Eiffel Tower; a privately guided tour of the Louvre; a bike ride through the royal gardens of Versailles and much more.”
