Diamond Select Toys (DST) today announced it will be launching a new line of limited edition Marvel figure collector sets based on Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line. The new line launches with the Amazing Spider-Man (now available for pre-orders with a ship time of late 2014) and will also include Captain America, Iron Man and Wolverine. Each collectible set — limited to a production run of 3,000 pieces — will retail for $80 and come complete with alternate hands and parts.
First up, an entire series of 2-inch Marvel Minimates will be dedicated to Thor: The Dark World. The 53rd Marvel assortment available only at comic shops and specialty stores will include four different two-packs: Thor with Malekith, Loki with Heimdall, Dr. Erik Selvig with Dark Elf and Darcy Lewis with Dark Elf. Designed by the team at Art Asylum, each Minimate stands 2 inches tall and includes a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories, including an alternate head for Malekith, hands for the Dark Elves, a helmet for Loki and bare legs for Selvig.
Diamond Select Toys has announced that they will be producing the first ever Disney Minimates collection for Peter Pan to commemorate the release of the animated classic’s Diamond Edition on Blu-ray.
Two boxed sets of four Minimates mini-figures each will be available in the collection. The first set will include Peter and three of the lost boys:? Cubby, Tootles and Nibs. Peter comes with a miniature version of Tinker Bell that can hover over his shoulder. The second set will include Michael, John, Captain Hook and a full-sized figure of Tinker Bell. Both sets will include standing bases to support each character, as well as one flying base each, so you can have Peter and Tink float above the ground.
Ahead of the 2013 American International Toy Fair in New York City, Hasbro has shared this first look at the first wave of their ‘Iron Assemblers’ collection of 3.75″ action figures in support of Marvel’s Iron Man 3.

There are 16 figures in the collection, with the first wave being released soon (see hi-res images below) including Iron Patriot, War Machine and the classic Gold/Red Iron Man suit. Each figure will retail for $9.99 each and is recommended for children ages 4 and up.
Buried under extensive coverage of Star Wars at the International Toy Fair, StarWars.com recently brought us news of a couple of new exclusive limited edition releases coming soon to Disney Parks.
In honor of The Empire Strikes Back which will be celebrating its 30th anniversary during Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2010 comes this extremely limited edition action figure of Stitch as the hologram of Emperor Palpatine. Limited to a run of only 1980 (get it?), each piece is accompanied by an individually numbered card and branded as being specific to the 2010 Star Wars Weekends event, thus it will be available exclusively at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
