Released earlier today via the Alice in Wonderland Facebook page, Walt Disney Studios has released the first official image from Tim Burton’s upcoming film, featuring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.
After some much anticipation building-upping on its Facebook pages for the film, Walt Disney Studios has just released the second official trailer for the upcoming Tim Burton film. Enjoy.
Just spotted earlier today on Big Bad Toy Store (although other importers are likely to carry them) is this set of 2 7″ tall Ultra Design Figures of Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland by Medicom.
Expected to ship in 2010, the set will run you about $35.
Now if something a little larger was what you had in mind, drink this one in. Medicom is also releasing a 12″ Mad Hatter doll which is sure to grab any passerby’s attention. Pricing for this crazy puppy will run you roughly $150-$200 depending on whom you buy it from.
With the aid of his legions of followers, the Mad Hatter recently unveiled a series of images on his Facebook page that — when combined — presented a mural featuring many of the characters that will appear in Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland next March. Incidentally, this image represents the first time the Caterpillar (Alan Rickman) has been pictured.
Four months to go until the release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and the waiting has driven some of us mad and some others madder, least of all the Hatter who has taken to his Facebook page to releasing this first of three new images from the upcoming film. He’s managed to place an embargo on the others however and won’t release anything more until he gets at least 7,500 Likes, so interested parties are encouraged to check out The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter and vote up the first.
‘It’s his party and he’ll cry if he wants to’ appears to be the theme of this amazing screenshot Disney sent us from the upcoming Alice in Wonderland game for the Nintendo Wii, DS and PC. Based on what we know of the game already, it appears Alice (the player) and the White Rabbit are approaching a distraught Mad Hatter as he struggles to entertain the only guest at his tea party — himself. I can’t help but notice (and love) how the Hatter’s more traditional lengthy table has been replaced by several smaller tables strung together on top of the one-lush landscape, now completely eroded under the reign of the Red Queen.
For Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Walt Disney Studios has gone the extra mile to create this traveling exhibit featuring props and models from the upcoming feature. After entering the main doors, you travel down the rabbit hole into Alice’s room featuring a very large Alice model along with her dress, the drink me bottles, the eat me cakes and other props. Other rooms include the Mad Tea Party where you’ll find the Mad Hatter’s wardrobe (and hair), the Red Queen’s Throne room and the White Queen’s room which also contains battle gear for Alice and the Mad Hatter.
Unfortunately we couldn’t be there, but Disney sends us their best, or presented them anyway. The first ever 3D panel at Comic-Con featured emcee Patton Oswald (voice of Remy), directors Tim Burton, Robert Zemeckis and Joe Kosinski (pictured, left) as well as a host of surprise guests, footage and more.
In addition to the current projects, Burton offered that he’ll be working on his take of the supernatural cult-classic soap opera, Dark Shadows. Robert Zemeckis, having expressed interest in a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit? in the past, was unable to either confirm or deny if it’ll be on his plate any time soon.
Yesterday, as you are probably aware, the teaser trailer to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was released prematurely. Although we did manage to save our own copy, when it became evident that Walt Disney Studios was not a fan of the breach, it was decided to simply delete the post that linked to it. So for that we both apologize to and appreciate those who posted the many links to our site posted on forums all over (on some interesting non-Disney topic forums too).
Fresh from Walt Disney Studios, a couple more images from the upcoming films.
