On April 10, from 2 pm – 6 pm at Disneyland’s D Street located in the Downtown Disney District, Classic Hardware founder Karyn Cantor will be on hand to present several items from the collection inspired by Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
Oscar-winning costume designer and Tim Burton cohort Colleen Atwood provides a personal tour and insight for some of the costumes featured in Alice in Wonderland from Walt Disney Studios in this video. The video also features sketches and lots of behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film.
Earlier this week, Walt Disney Studios released this amazing video that shows a behind the scenes peek at the progressions used to mix live action with computer generated imagery to form some of the incredible sights found in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Much of the live-action is filmed against a greenscreen using a technology called chroma key (most often used in television weather reports) in which everything that is green (such as the background, the frog standees and even some of the people) is removed automatically from the final product, allowing them to mix the images together seamlessly.
Barnes and Noble announced its ‘More in Store’ program today which offers free bonus content to owners of its Nook portable e-book reader when visiting the store.
Amongst the offerings announced is the ability for Nook owners to personalize their Nooks with 13 screensavers, based on director Tim Burton’s sketches from Alice in Wonderland from Walt Disney Studios. The screensavers include images of Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, the Red Queen and other memorable characters from the imaginative movie. The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) has announced a couple of Content Theater Sessions for the 2010 NAB Show which bring Disney technology to the forefront. The show takes place in Las Vegas from April 10-15.
In ‘Alicein Wonderland’: Turning Fantasy into Motion Picture Reality,the session will will explore both the production and post production processes, and will describe the challenges of creating characters of unique heights and proportions with special attention to the hybrid of live action and visual effects and the conversion of 2D to stereoscopic 3D. Expected to appear on the panel are: Art Repola, executive vice president of visual effects and production, The Walt Disney Studios; Ken Ralston, multi Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor for the film; Corey Turner, stereographer for the film; and Tom Peitzman, co-producer/visual effects producer for the film. The session is scheduled to place Monday, April 12.

AMC Theatres® (AMC), a leading theatrical exhibition and entertainment company, today announces that guests will be able to see movies in a new, entirely superior fashion when the AMC Enhanced Theatre Experience (ETXTM) makes its U.S. debut on March 5 at AMC Pleasure Island 24 at Downtown Disney® Area at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
ETX includes a 20-percent larger screen, 3D technology, digital projection and an upgraded sound system. Specifically, the digital projection system produces images comprised of 2 million pixels, which delivers a higher resolution than HD. This eye-popping image is then showcased on a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screen that immerses guests in the image.

Walt Disney Studios has just begun airing a new television commercial for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. In addition to much of the footage previously released, the new tv ad shows a bit of footage from ‘the real world’ towards the beginning of the film in which Alice must face her fate shortly before spotting a well dressed rabbit.
