The LEGO Group today announced that Disney XD has acquired the five-episode ‘LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales’ mini-series to air later this year. The animated mini-series consists of five 22-minute episodes that will re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace up through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.
With just a couple of weeks to go before the release of Cinderella (March 13, 2015), Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with a wealth of information and details for the short that precedes it, Frozen Fever. In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday (which falls on the summer solstice as Elsa’s is the winter solstice) and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk. And if you’re one of everyone who saw the trailer for the seven minute short that was released yesterday, you know there’s a lot more to Elsa’s simple plans.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released part of a deleted scene from the upcoming Pixie Hollow film, Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast (March 3, 2015), which is now available for pre-order. Presented in animatics, the scene, titled ‘Feeding Gruff,’ can be found embedded below along with an introduction from the director.
Confirming earlier reports by Stitch Kingdom, Walt Disney Records today announced that the original motion picture soundtrack for Cinderella (March 13, 2013), will feature both Lily James and Helena Bonham Carter performing covers of ‘A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes’ and ‘Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo’ respectively. The two songs will appear over the end title credits in addition to the original song ‘Strong’ which is performed by Sonna Rele. Walt Disney Records also announced that those who purchase the physical CD edition of the original motion picture soundtrack for Cinderella will also receive a code to download the all-new song from the short Frozen Fever, which was written by Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and features the vocal talents of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell ‘and cast.’ The soundtrack will be available for purchase on March 10 and is currently available for pre-order.
Earlier this morning on ‘Good Morning America,’ Walt Disney Animation Studios’ premiered its ‘trailer’ for Frozen Fever, which will play in front of the live-action Cinderella (March 13, 2015) in theaters. ‘Future-Worm!,’ created by the Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Quincy is coming to Disney XD in short-form and a newly announced full-length series beginning in Fall 2015. Quincy, who joined the Disney Television Animation team in 2013, is the executive producer. The announcement was made today by Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation.
‘Future-Worm!’ follows Danny, an optimistic 12-year-old who creates a time machine lunch box and befriends Future Worm, a fearless worm from the future. Together, the duo navigates through space, time and study hall, embarking on adventures and spontaneously making up new ones along the way.
Production has begun on Disney Junior’s ‘Goldie & Bear,’ a fairytale-inspired animated series for preschoolers. Slated to debut in Fall 2015, the series follows the adventures of newfound friends Goldie and Bear, following the renowned porridge incident of ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears.’ The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.
Set in the Fairytale Forest, the series follows the adventures of plucky Goldie and her best friend, Bear, as they encounter well-known characters from fairytales and nursery rhymes, including Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs.
