FIRST LOOK: Doc McStuffins Meet and Greet Character at D23 Expo

Doc McStuffins Meet and Greet at D23 ExpoBroken toys had nothing to fear this past weekend at Disney D23 Expo in Anaheim, California as Doc McStuffins made her debut to meet and greet with fans — and cuddles were definitely prescribed. We were fortunate to catch up with Doc between appointments where she proudly displayed one of the in-booth giveaways from Disney Junior: a tote with her own likeness on it.

No word at this time if and when she’ll be making appearances in Disney Parks but given her immense popularity and having been recently added to Disney Junior Live On Stage (alongside Princess Sofia the First who started appearing not too long ago at the Disneyland Resort and just yesterday began appearing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort), it’s a good bet she just may.

Photo by Kiki LevinImagine if there was a way to explore every single frame of every single production from Walt Disney Feature Animation, from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs through Wreck-It Ralph and beyond. Imagine if you could have the ability to take a CG model of Vanellope von Schweetz based on an import of the real one and not only easily animate her with more than a hundred points of articulation but save and share your creation with your friends and even allow them to collaborate on your animation (app required). Imagine if you could harness the power of Elsa’s magic snow from Frozen and control its every move and appearance using the same software principles as the film’s animators used.

Disneyland’s Mysterious Role for ‘Immersive Meet and Greet’ (Frozen’s Kristoff? Marvel’s Avengers?)

A few days ago, we reported that Walt Disney World had issued a casting notice for Anna and Elsa from Walt Disney Animation Studio’s upcoming film, Frozen. Those roles, which called for one 5’3” – 5’7”, caucasian, slender, youthful yet regal and confident (Elsa) and one 5’3” – 5’7”, caucasian, slender, a youthful and outgoing free-spirit (Anna) brought joy to many, but ultimately raised more questions than it answered. What about Disneyland, some wondered, while others pondered what about the primary male lead in the film, Kristoff?

D23 Expo: ‘Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story’ Web Series Sneak Peek (Minor Spoilers)

Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story

Yesterday, Stitch Kingdom was invited to preview Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story, an upcoming webseries produced by Disney Interactive. The following is a recap of the event — which included an advanced viewing of the webseries as well as a behind-the-scenes look at its creation — courtesy of Kiki Levin.

It’s not often you’d imagine members of the Walt Disney Company dumpster-diving for set pieces, but that’s exactly what happened during the production of Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story. Conceived and created by the Disney Interactive team in Burbank, the stop-motion animation was made on a shoe-string budget (hence the dumpster-diving) but radiates the high production values and heart-warming storylines Disney fans have come to know and love.
