‘Future-Worm!,’ created by the Emmy Award-winning director Ryan Quincy is coming to Disney XD in short-form and a newly announced full-length series beginning in Fall 2015. Quincy, who joined the Disney Television Animation team in 2013, is the executive producer. The announcement was made today by Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation.
‘Future-Worm!’ follows Danny, an optimistic 12-year-old who creates a time machine lunch box and befriends Future Worm, a fearless worm from the future. Together, the duo navigates through space, time and study hall, embarking on adventures and spontaneously making up new ones along the way.
Production has begun on Disney Junior’s ‘Goldie & Bear,’ a fairytale-inspired animated series for preschoolers. Slated to debut in Fall 2015, the series follows the adventures of newfound friends Goldie and Bear, following the renowned porridge incident of ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears.’ The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide.
Set in the Fairytale Forest, the series follows the adventures of plucky Goldie and her best friend, Bear, as they encounter well-known characters from fairytales and nursery rhymes, including Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs.
If fellow Disney pirate Jack Sparrow were ever to encounter Jake from Disney Junior’s ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates,’ he might provide the following sage advice: there should be a captain in there somewhere. This summer, Jake will get his day as he gets a promotion and a brand new ship in an upcoming television event. Titled ‘Mystery of the Mighty Colossus,’ Fisher-Price has previewed an 2-feet tall playset of the Mighty Colossus featuring a figurine of the new Captain Jake. A gallery of photos of the playset, previewed at the International Toy Fair, is embedded below
At the International Toy Fair currently being presented at New York City, we had the opportunity to visit the TOMY Toys showroom to check out some of the first Disney toys being introduced by the North American arm of the company. In addition to ‘Miles From Tomorrowland,’ which we had already previewed here, we were able to check out prototypes of items being released in support of Pixar’s Inside Out. Although photographs were strictly forbidden for both Pixar lines, we can share a few details of the upcoming line of figures, playsets and plush.
Disney XD has ordered a second season of Disney Television Animation’s animated comedy adventure ‘Star vs. The Forces of Evil’ ahead of the series premiere on Monday, March 30 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. Initial fan response in terms of fan art was cited as the reason for the announcement.
Created and executive-produced by 2009 California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) graduate Daron Nefcy, ‘Star vs. The Forces of Evil’ follows fiercely awesome teen princess Star Butterfly. After receiving an all-powerful magic wand for her 14th birthday, Star is sent by her Royal Parents to live with the Diaz family on Earth, bringing along her own unique inter-dimensional style to her new home. Together with the Diaz’s teenage son, Marco, they navigate high school and embark on dimension-hopping adventures across the multiverse while keeping her wand out of the clutches of arch-nemesis Ludo and his monstrous forces of evil.
