Ahead of any official announcements, Amazon has begun listing several Disney films slated for a blu-ray release on August 12, 2014. While the domestic version of the site currently lists dates for just a couple of the titles on DVD format, Amazon Canada is being more forthcoming about the titles and the release date — if they are indeed correct.
The complete list of titles expected to be released on August 12 (so far) are: Tarzan; Hercules; The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad; Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers (10th Anniversary); and Bedknobs And Broomsticks: Special Edition.
In late 2005, Disney’s DisneyToon Studios (then the king of direct-to-home-video sequels) began development on a sequel to the 1970 animated classic, The Aristocats. Although some storyboards have been passed around the internet, little appears to be known about the canceled project and based on what is known, there’s probably a very good reason for it.
Walt Disney Records’ newly created line of collectible CDs, Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection, will celebrate the anniversaries of Disney’s most cherished and classic properties that have been enchanting audiences for generations. The picture disc for The Little Mermaid features Ariel and Flounder on one side while Ursula is featured on the reverse; the reverse side for The Lion King features the iconic moment in which Rafiki presents baby Simba to the animal kingdom.
On June 24, 2014, Walt Disney Records will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Walt Disney Animation Studios animated classic, The Lion King, with the release of a two-disc set, Stitch Kingdom has learned. Although it appears to have a couple of errors, a listing for the Legacy Collection edition has recently appeared on Amazon for pre-order.
Debuting in theaters on June 15, 1994, The Lion King remains one of the studios’ top grossing films to this day and has spawned Broadway, international and touring staged productions worthy of its success.
