‘Prep & Landing,’ ‘Bambi 2′ and India Original Films Join Disney’s Blu-ray Release Schedule in 2011
Ahead of any formal announcements, Amazon.com has begun taking pre-orders for several Disney films on Blu-ray in 2011. For the most part, no additional information is yet available but we will update and highlight the releases as we learn of them:
‘Prep & Landing‘, the holiday television special from Walt Disney Animation Studios is expected to be released on November 22, 2011 as per the DVD edition. We can probably expect to see the short introduced last year, ‘Operation: Secret Santa,’ as well as some of the online content and perhaps even the new special being released later this year, ‘Prep & Landing: Naught vs. Nice.’
The direct-to-video sequel Bambi II will find its way onto Disney Blu-ray on August 23, 2011.
In addition, films made for India by Disney will also be released domestically later this year on July 26, 2011 including Zokkomon and Do Dooni Chaar

Photo: ‘Bambi’ Stars Meet for First Time on ABC’s ‘The View’
Among the guests on the March 4th edition of the ABC morning talkshow, ‘The View,’ were Bambi voice actors Donnie Dunagan and Peter Behn who, as children, provided the voices of Bambi and Thumper respectively.
As opposed to live action films where actors do physically perform together for the most part, in animation, roles are usually performed and recorded separately. This allows for individual lines to be recorded over and over for optimal delivery choices, but inherently doesn’t allow the actors to play off of each other.
As fate would have it, Dunagan and Behn, despite performing in the iconic film seven decades ago and sharing the unique and special bond, had never met face to face until this morning.

Mickey Mouse isn’t the only Disney friend to enter the TRON grid anymore thanks to this first look at the sculpt of an upcoming MINDstyle adult toy collectible (ATC). Unfortunately the vinyl figure will be exclusive to the Man Is In The Forest concept store in Shanghai. The shop actually got its name from the film Bambi, although it’s said that the line itself was also used by Disney animators to spread word that Walt Disney was present at the Studios.
