Marvel Studios has released the first teaser poster for its upcoming film, Guardians of the Galaxy, which comes to us courtesy of director James Gunn.
Earlier tonight, the first official trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy was released exclusively on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live,’ which you can find embedded below. In addition, Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have provided us with several high-res stills from the film.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the next — and perhaps strangest — entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s mostly unknown to those who don’t embed themselves into the Marvel comics universe. While Star-Lord, Groot and Rocket Raccoon and the rest of the motley crew will undoubtedly become household names after the movie releases on August 1, 2014, Marvel is gearing up to indoctrinate us with a series of original books and materials tied to the film.
As part of its preview for its upcoming 2014 slate of films, Walt Disney Studios has provided us with newly released high-resolution stills and first looks at several of its projects, including the official synopsis for McFarland, starring Kevin Costner. Details and images follow:
Muppets Most Wanted (March 21, 2014)
Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling our grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine — the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit — and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
