Soon Dug discovers that where he belongs is not where he’s been looking. (Directed by: Ronnie del Carmen)

- Hawaiian Vacation — Fans will love this ‘Toy Story Toon,’ as Woody and Buzz lead a group of toys in giving Ken and Barbie the Hawaiian vacation of their dreams – without ever leaving home. (Directed by: Gary Rydstrom)
- Small Fry — Fans’ favorite team of toys is back in this clever ‘Toy Story Toon.’ Buzz Lightyear is left behind at a fast food restaurant where he finds himself in a support group for discarded toys. As Woody and the gang devise a way to rescue their friend, Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting. (Directed by: Angus MacLane)
- La Luna – The timeless fable of a young boy coming of age in the most peculiar of circumstances, in which he discovers his Papa’s and Grandpa’s unusual line of work. (Directed by: Enrico Casarosa)

First Look: Mattel Introduces Toys for Rapunzel, Toy Story 3, Cars and More
The 107th annual American International Toy Fair is about to kick off in New York City and we couldn’t be more excited. In honor of the 1200+ exhibitors showing off their latest and greatest in toys, we thought we’d take a sneak peek at some of the new Disney toys from Mattel that you can expect to find at your favorite retailer later this year.
We’ll start with this summer’s most anticipated event: Toy Story 3.
First up is the Buzz Lightyear Deluxe Action Wing Pack (Ages 6+; MSRP $49.99; Available May). Junior Space Rangers can sport this backpack style gear which — at a touch of a button — pops out a set of their very own wings, useful for flying or simply falling with style. Other buttons speak some of Buzz’s most popular catchphrases, but the coolest part of all is that the wings can sense when they’re in the horizontal position and will automatically play ‘flying’ noises. When the mission’s been accomplished, the wings contract at the press of a button.
If you’ve been following the TS3 news and have seen the new trailer, you probably already know that Ken (Michael Keaton) joins the Toy Story family and given that Mattel is the home of Ken and Barbie, the Barbie Toy Story 3 Made For Each Other Gift Set (Ages 3+; MSRP $24.99; Available May) is a zero-brainer. The pair of dolls help re-live the magic of the film dressed in the style as they appear on screen.

Wild Planet to Release Woody’s Run-Around Roundup RFID Educational Game in May
Woody’s Run-Around Roundup, featuring the gang from Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story, follows Wild Planet’s successful listen-think-move format and promotes physical and mental exercise. It can be played indoors or out, solo or in teams, and does not require the use of a computer or television.
Woody (atop his horse Bullseye) is the electronic hand-held tagger in the game and his Toy Story co-stars Buzz Lightyear, Jesse, Hamm and Rex are targets. Players listen for Woody to call out clues about different characters, then run to and tag the corresponding targets.
A microchip embedded in the tagger uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to recognize the targets. When Woody is placed over the correct character, the circuit is complete and players advance. If players tag an incorrect target, Woody will repeat the call-out and encourage the players to try again.
This non-traditional use of RFID allows the game to be played at varying degrees of physical difficulty as the targets can be spread out across short or long distances and placed high or low. Farther targets at different heights result in more running, bending, reaching and stretching.
Woody’s Run-Around Roundup gives kids a mental workout as well. As the game progresses, the call-outs become more challenging. In early levels Woody calls out a name or the first letter of a name (R is for Rex). Once kids master names and letters, the game adds in colors and character traits (Who wears a white spacesuit? Who is a yodeling cowgirl?).
In addition to the main game, Woody’s Run-Around Roundup also features a sequence-building memory game, a hide-and-seek treasure hunt, and multi-player modes. Each game requires physical exertion that aids in the development of large and small muscle groups while improving coordination and motor skills. The sharing and listening aspects of the game practice positive social behaviors.
Recommended for 1-6 players, ages 3 and up, Woody’s Run-Around Roundup is an ideal game for families to play together as it exercises the bodies and minds of multiple generations. Set to be released mid-May of 2010, the game is expected to retail for $25.

Walt Disney World Honors Buzz Lightyear with Hero’s Welcome (Photos, Video)
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2009) – Disney Parks and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) today celebrated Buzz Lightyear’s cosmic achievement as the longest tenured crew member in space with a ticker-tape parade down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Some of Buzz’s new friends, including astronaut Buzz Aldrin and International Space Station Expedition 18 astronaut Michael Fincke, attended.
After living his dream of space travel, Buzz Lightyear returned to Earth aboard Space Shuttle Discovery STS-128 on Sept. 11, following more than 15 months of dedicated service onboard the International Space Station (ISS). The 12-inch-tall action star flew to space as part of an education initiative between Disney Parks and NASA to encourage students to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
“Buzz’s historic space flight is a great example of spreading the excitement of space exploration to students around the world,” said NASA’s Assistant Administrator for Education, Dr. Joyce Winterton. “We hope that our space station crews and Buzz will spark student interest in the International Space Station and its scientific potential.”
“We can’t thank our partners at NASA enough for bringing Buzz Lightyear home from space to his family, friends and fans here at Disney Parks – after all, this was his dream come true,” said Duncan Wardle, vice president, Disney Parks. “He was certainly missed and deserves a hero’s welcome!”
Coinciding with the celebratory parade, NASA announced two new student contests and conducted special educational experiences in the park, including fun and informative discussions with NASA astronauts.
The ISS Student Experiment Competition challenges students in 5th-8th grade to devise experiments to be conducted aboard the space station. The winning 12 experiments will be performed by future station crew members and videotaped for the winning schools. More information on the competition is available at www.NASA.gov/BuzzonISS.com.
Disney Parks and NASA today also launched an online Mission Patch Design Challenge that will run from Oct. 2-Nov. 6. Students ages 6-12 will have the opportunity to design a mission patch to commemorate Buzz’s return aboard shuttle Discovery and his accomplishment of being the longest-serving toy in space. The student with the most creative mission patch and 100-word essay will win a trip to Walt Disney World Resort and a VIP tour of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. More information on the Mission Patch Design Challenge is available at DisneyParks.com/buzz.
NASA and Disney today also launched a new online game as part of the Space Ranger Education Series, both at http://www.nasa.gov/kidsclub. The series includes fun, educational games for students, as well as materials for educators to download and integrate into their classroom curriculum.
Buzz Lightyear is the intrepid space ranger toy from the Disney•Pixar films “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2.” Originally released in 1995, “Toy Story” was the first fully computer-animated feature film, which earned director John Lasseter a Special Achievement Award (Oscar®) from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Both films chronicle the comedic adventures of a group of toys that come to life when humans aren’t watching. Buzz is one of the beloved toys of child-owner Andy, along with the rest of Andy’s toy gang, including the likeable cowboy Woody, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Rex, Slinky Dog, Hamm, Jessie the cowgirl and Bullseye the horse.
Buzz isn’t just returning home. He returns to the big screen alongside Woody and the rest of the gang, this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” 3-D double feature hits theaters today (Oct. 2) for a limited two-week engagement. The Disney Digital 3Dä “Toy Story” celebration culminates next summer in a brand new adventure starring Buzz and Woody: “Toy Story 3” – in theaters June 18, 2010.

NASA Launches New Education Initiatives, Contests with Disney’s Buzz Lightyear
WASHINGTON, Oct. 2 — NASA and Disney Parks, which collaborated to carry toy space ranger Buzz Lightyear into orbit, are launching new efforts to encourage students to pursue studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The 12-inch-tall action figure spent more than 15 months aboard the International Space Station and returned to Earth on Sept. 11. On Friday, Oct. 2, a ticker-tape parade at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Fla., will officially welcome Lightyear home.
“Buzz’s historic spaceflight is a great example of spreading the excitement of space exploration with students around the world,” said Joyce Winterton, NASA’s assistant administrator for Education at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “We hope our space station crews and Buzz will continue to spark student interest in the space station and its scientific potential.”
NASA astronaut Mike Fincke, the station commander from October 2008 to April 2009, is spending the day at the Magic Kingdom to tell students about two new educational design challenges and a new online game.
