‘Cars 2′ Character Stats, New Tokyo Party Clip and New Still as Sophia Loren Joins International Cast
Ever wonder how your favorite Cars 2 character would stack up in the real world? Thanks to Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios, we now have a pretty detailed list of statistics for most of the characters you’ll find in the film.
But while we’re on the topic of how the characters would compete, let’s first take a look at this brand new clip from the film which, like a couple of other previously released clips, takes place at the pre-World Grand Prix social gathering in Tokyo, Japan. In this clip, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and trash-talking, self-loving rival Francesco Bernoulli (John Turturro) meet in person for the first time. Mater, who finds himself in awe of being in the presence of one of the world’s greatest drivers (Lightning is just his best friend after all), has no problem reminding Francesco how much he is loved — not just by Mater, but by Lightning’s best girl as well.
Not to be outdone, Disney/Pixar has also provided us with a brand new still pictured above which features Mama Topolino who will be voiced by the legendary actress, Sophia Loren in 21 countries. In the English versions of the film, Mama Topolino will be voiced by Vanessa Redgrave, but in other non-English versions including including Italy, China, Russia, Brazil, Spain, Mexico, France and Japan, she will be voiced by Sophia Loren who will recite Mama Topolino’s lines in Italian.

‘Cars 2′ Public Service Announcement (Russian)
Walt Disney Studios has released the following public service announcement (PSA) featuring Mater and Lightning McQueen as Mater (inexplicably dressed as a zebra, perhaps in support for John Rich’s recent ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ win?) teaches a young forklift to pay attention to the walk/don’t walk signs when crossing the street, only cross at the designated crosswalk and to look both ways before crossing even when given the green light. If the fact that Lightning McQueen nearly proceeds to run the poor lad over, the real message of the PSA is that both pedestrians and motorists need to look out for each other. And then they all get ice cream.
As a bonus, they’ve also released this featurette (mostly in Russian, although the recording of the PSA’s narration here is in English), which goes behind the scenes of making the PSA:

‘Cars 2′ Japanese Trailer Highlights Relationship Troubles for Mater (Minor Spoilers)
In true to form fashion, the Japanese film trailer for Disney’s latest film, Cars 2, from Pixar Animation Studios gets depressing. Here, a sub-plot involving a falling out between Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater is revealed when Mater inadvertently gives McQueen bad advice during a leg of the World Grand Prix and causes him the race. Fortunately, as the tired cliche would have it when best friends/lovers have a major falling out and never want to see each other again, it all works out in the end and the two end up closer than ever.
