‘Wreck-It Ralph’ ‘Game Changer’ Ad Features New Footage, Owl City Song

'Wreck-It Ralph' Teaser PosterWalt Disney Animation Studios last night released a new television spot for its upcoming film, Wreck-It Ralph, out in theaters on November 2, 2012. Whereas the Paperman short that will open for the film is a real game changer, Ralph is a literal game changer as evidenced in the new commercial. The ad features plenty of new footage including an overview of Litwak’s Family Fun Center & Arcade and all other sorts of goodies.

‘Disney Studio All Access’ Moniker Officially Dropped from Disney’s Upcoming Movie Cloud

Disney Movies AnywhereStill attempting to keep the new name for its movie cloud a secret, Walt Disney Studios has officially stopped promoting the service which allows consumers to play back movies across all devices as being called ‘Disney Studio All Access’ (DSAA). The DSAA teaser site (dsaa.com) now points to http://disney.go.com/movies-rewards-more which features a new, abbreviated version of the teaser video featuring the song ‘Everything At Once’ by Lenka. The new video makes no reference to ‘Disney Studio All Access,’ nor the replacement name we’ve been reporting of ‘Disney Movies Anywhere.’ Instead the video promises simply ‘movies, extras, rewards and much, much more’ and advises the viewer to visit MoviesRewardsMore.com which is owned by Disney but is not yet operational despite the video being on a well known page.

Our Frankenweenie news cup hath run over today and this gorgeous publicity shot of director Tim Burton with a ‘dead’ Sparky puppet is just the very tip of the iceberg. Walt Disney Studios has now provided us with several new hi-res stills featuring characters such as Mr. Burgermeister, Nassor, Weird Girl, Bob, Mrs. Frankenstein and more, along with the Turtle Monster and a beautiful shot of Edgar ogling a tank full of fish. We’ve also been given a few behind-the-scenes images reflecting just a tiny fragment of the production process.

‘Saving Mr. Banks’ (2013) Begins Production in Los Angeles

Disney began production today on Saving Mr. Banks, the account of Walt Disney’s twenty-year pursuit of the film rights to P.L. Travers’ popular novel, Mary Poppins, and the testy partnership the upbeat filmmaker develops with the uptight author during the project’s pre-production in 1961.

‘Frankenweenie’ Early Screening in New York City on September 23

'Frankenweenie' PosterIn conjunction with the New York International Children’s Film Festival, Walt Disney Studios will be offering a special pre-release screening of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie this Sunday, September 23 at 11 am at the IFC Center in New York City.

Tickets are $18 per adult, $14 per child/senior and $13 for IFC members, which is a bit on the pricey side, even for New York, but this will guarantee you the opportunity to see the film nearly two weeks in advance of its theatrical debut on October 5.

‘Frankenweenie’ Featurette Delves Into Film with Cast and Crew

'Frankenweenie' PosterWalt Disney Studios has just released this rather lengthy featurette for its upcoming release of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, which debuts in theaters nationwide on October 5, 2012. Joining Burton for the featurette are cast members Charlie Tahan, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder and Martin Landau. Also featured from the creative team are executive producer Don Hahn, producer Allison Abbate, production designer Rick Heinrichs and puppet designer Joe Holman.

The featurette also includes quite a bit of behind-the-scenes footage including the voiceover work as well as shooting the actual sets and props. A small amount of new footage is also shared.

D23 Offers Free ‘Frankenweenie’ Screenings Nationwide Ahead of Film’s Release

'Frankenweenie' PosterDisney D23, the official fan club for The Walt Disney Company, has announced that it will be offering its members the opportunity to see Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie from Walt Disney Studios during the week of September 24 for free, ahead of the film’s official opening on October 5, 2012.

Metro areas included in the opportunity include: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Ft. Worth, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

‘Pixar Shorts Volume 2′ List of Included Shorts Announced

'Pixar Shorts Volume 2'Nearly a month after we first announced the upcoming arrival of ‘Pixar Shorts Voume 2‘ on Blu-ray (available to own November 13, 2012), Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially confirmed the release and date along with a list of all of the shorts included in the second collection of short films from Pixar Animation Studios as well as student films from John Lasseter, Pete Docter and Andrew Stanton.

The included shorts are as follows:

  • BURN-E –  BURN-E is a dedicated, hard working robot that finds himself locked out of his ship and quickly learns that completing a simple task can often be a difficult endeavor. Based on characters from WALL-E. (Directed by: Angus MacLane)
