‘Toy Story 4′ to be Directed by John Lasseter

Director John Lasseter works with members of his story team on Disney/Pixar's 'Toy Story 4,' a new chapter in the lives of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the "Toy Story" gang. All Rights Reserved.Slated for a June 16, 2017 release, Disney Chairman and CEO Robert I get today announced that ‘Toy Story 4′ is currently under development and is being directed by John Lasseter. The announcement was made during a press call discussing The Walt Disney Company’s fiscal year.

In addition, Iger noted that the troubled Pixar film, ‘The Good Dinosaur’ will be released in 2016. UPDATE: Pixar has confirmed the date has not changed.

‘Big Hero 6,’ ‘The Pirate Fairy’ and ‘Planes: Fire and Rescue’ Submitted for Oscar Consideration

As per the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, twenty animated films have been submitted for consideration in the Animated Feature Category of the 87th Academy Awards. Among them are Big Hero 6 from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy and Planes: Fire and Rescue from Disney Toon Studios. Several of the films, however, have yet to complete their required
qualifying run in Los Angeles. Category rules dictate that at least eight eligible animated features must be theatrically released in Los Angeles County within the calendar year in order for the category to be activated, although that does not appear to be an issue at this point in time.

REVIEW: ‘Big Hero 6: Baymax Blast’ for iOS Might Be Disney’s Best Movie Tie-In Yet

'Big Hero 6: Baymax Blast'When it comes to Disney and mobile apps, there are pretty much two things you can rely on: first is that there is almost always at least one tie-in app/game for a movie; second is that Disney Digital Books has consistently been releasing near flawless apps that go well above and beyond expectations. ‘Big Hero 6: Baymax Blast‘ betrays neither of these. In fact, I would go as far as to suggest that reading this review would be a mistake as it will take away from potential play time. Nonetheless, here it is.

'Baymax Hero Lab'Walt Disney Studios and Disney Animation Studios have launched a new micro-site in support of Big Hero 6 (Nov 7, 2014), titled ‘Baymax Hero Lab.’ Via a series of questions and fun interactive activities such as a Big Hero 6-themed memory game and plugging the leaks in Baymax, the site aims to give you a super hero identity along with identifying your super power and teaming you up with one of the Big Hero 6 team members.
