NYCC: Disney to Preview ‘Big Hero 6,’ ‘Tomorrowland’ at New York Comic-Con

Short on details, Walt Disney Studios has confirmed its plans to present at the 2014 New York Comic Con on Thursday, October 9, 2014.

Walt Disney Animation Studios presents an exclusive look at their follow-up to last year’s Frozen, Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014) with directors Don Hall and Chris Williams, producer Roy Conli and special guests. We already know that Scott Adsit, voice of Baymax, will be attending the Comic-Con for other purposes, so it’s likely he too will join the presentation.

Vinyl collectibles from Funko. The series consists of GoGo Tomago, Honey Lemon, Wasabi (No-Ginger), Fred and — of course — Hiro. Also being released are extra large 6″ versions of Baymax in both mech and a special ‘pearlescent’ nurse version. Most of the figures are set to be released in October with the pearlescent Baymax in November/December.

Walt Disney Studios and Pixar Animation Studios have provided us this amazing first look at one of the 7 minute, 9 second short’s main leads, Uku (voiced by Kuana Torres Kahele — also the short’s narrator). Uku’s better half, Lele is voiced by Napua Greig.

Disney’s ‘Feast’ First Images in High Resolution

Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with high resolution versions of two recently released stills from Patrick Osborne’s short, Feast, which will play before Big Hero 6 (November 7, 2014).

Feast, a new short from first-time director Patrick Osborne (head of animation for Paperman) and Walt Disney Animation Studios, is the story of one man’s love life as seen through the eyes of his best friend and dog, Winston, and revealed bite by bite through the meals they share.

‘The Story of Frozen: Making An Animated Classic’ ABC Special Premieres September 2

(ABC/Ron Tom) JENNIFER LEE, CHRIS BUCKABC has announced it will air an hour-long special titled ‘The Story of Frozen: Making an Animated Classic’ which will premiere on the ABC television network on September 2, 2014 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The special promises to share the behind-the-scenes secrets in producing Frozen, the biggest animated film of all time. Viewers will get a rare look inside Walt Disney Animation Studios and unprecedented access to the creative team that brought Frozen to life. Throughout the one-hour special, the audience will hear from Frozen stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, the directors, songwriters, producer and artists and chief creative officer John Lasseter — the team who dreamed of making a cherished Hans Christian Andersen story into a big screen animated musical.  Viewers will take a journey to the beautiful Norwegian villages and landscapes that inspired the look of Arendelle — the fictional kingdom — and see images and footage from the research trips to Norway, Quebec and points beyond that helped create the film’s unforgettable look and feel.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios, the team behind Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, comes Big Hero 6, an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot,and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called Big Hero 6.

CONFIRMED: ‘Frozen: Sing-Along’ Edition DVD with ‘Breaking the Ice’ Featurette in November

'Frozen: Sing-Along Edition' on DVDWalt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has confirmed our earlier report that the ‘Sing-Along’ edition of the smash animated hit Frozen will be released on DVD and digital on November 18, 2014. As we previously announced, Disney Store has begun taking pre-orders. Amazon has also begun listing the title.

The DVD will contain both the standard theatrical cut as well as the special edition sing-along cut that played in theaters earlier this year. Also included will be the Mickey Mouse Get A Horse! short as well as the ‘Breaking the Ice – The Real Making of Frozen’ six minute featurette that was initially promised on the original Blu-ray release but was never delivered.
