Production has commenced on location in Australia on Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ epic comedy adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, directed by Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning, the fifth entry in the blockbuster franchise inspired by the classic Disney Theme Parks attraction, which has reaped $3.7 billion in worldwide box office. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will film entirely at Village Roadshow Studios and on locations within Queensland, Australia.
At the International Toy Fair in New York City, Funko has previewed its upcoming line of merchandise in support of Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland (May 22, 2015). The line consists of Pop! Vinyls, Re-Action figures and reproductions of the Tomorrowland pins featured in the film.
The Pop! side consists of Young Frank Walker, Frank Walker and David Nix; meanwhile the Re-Action series includes all these figures plus Athena, Dave Clark and Casey Newton. A full gallery of what Funko had on display is below:
At the International Toy Fair currently being presented at New York City, we had the opportunity to visit the TOMY Toys showroom to check out some of the first Disney toys being introduced by the North American arm of the company. In addition to ‘Miles From Tomorrowland,’ which we had already previewed here, we were able to check out prototypes of items being released in support of Pixar’s Inside Out. Although photographs were strictly forbidden for both Pixar lines, we can share a few details of the upcoming line of figures, playsets and plush.
While it’s still too early for any announcements regarding bonus materials, Disney’s Diamond Editions generally include brand new bonus features in addition to classic features from previous releases.

Just ahead of tomorrow’s digital release for Big Hero 6, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has released a second clip from the ‘Big Hero Secrets (Easter Egg) bonus feature. While the first focused on Frozen, the new clip — which you can find embedded below — focuses on Wreck-It Ralph and classic Hidden Mickeys. As it turns out, Hiro is a big fan of ‘Hero’s Duty.’The hit animated film will be available to own on Blu-ray and DVD on February 24, 2015 (available now for pre-order). In addition, it will enjoy an early release on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on February 3, 2015.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has released several new hi-res images from the upcoming short Frozen Fever which can be found in our gallery embedded below. Unlike the stills released earlier today by USA Today, these are in higher resolution and not cropped.

During ‘the big game,’ Walt Disney Studios has debuted its newest advertisement for for Tomorrowland (May 22, 2015), directing viewers to TakeMeToTomorrowland.com, which you can find embedded below. If you choose to go to TakeMeToTomorrowland.com, while it shows the ad for the Super Bowl, periodically the Tomorrowland pin will pop up above it. Clicking it instantly takes you to the Tomorrowland concept art which you can explore in high resolution, zooming in and out.

Ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIX game, Walt Disney Studios has launched a new viral website for Tomorrowland (May 22, 2015). Located at TakeMeToTomorrowland.com, the site appears to ‘randomly’ cycle through numbers at first glance, but periodically switches to a live countdown which appears to count down to 6:30 pm ET on Sunday, February 1, the date of the Super Bowl. Yesterday, it was announced that there will be a television spot promoting the Brad Bird film during the game, so it appears that it is expected to air around that time. In addition, the site features the slogan ‘The Future Awaits,’ as well as the ability to enter one’s email address for further updates.
