MINDstyle Offers First Look at ‘Animatronic Donald Duck’ from Epic Mickey
MINDstyle has been promoting Epic Mickey in a very vague way as of late and with the other merchandising for the game going on, particularly through Hot Topic, it’d be of little shock if MINDstyle were to produce vinyl adult toy collectibles (ATCs) in support of the game. In fact, it might even be more shocking if they weren’t (or at least Medicom which is producing the VCD of Mickey in the collector’s edition of the game).
Enter Animatronic Donald Duck. I’ll be honest, this may not be news, but this is the first time I’ve personally seen any form of these animatronic Disney characters since the initial concept art was leaked. According to the blog entry from MINDstyle:
‘The Mad Doctor has been fiddling with these classic Disney characters and scattering them everywhere, while Oswald has been attempting to put them back together out of loneliness. One of the choices that Mickey can eventually make is whether he wants to put Donald (and, presumably, the likes of Goofy and Pluto as well etc.) back together. In Epic Mickey, the animatronic Donald and other animatronic versions of Mickey’s friends were constructed for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit so that he could have friends like Mickey’s in his efforts to try and mimic his brother’s life.’

Vinylmation Previews Celebration Vinylmation/Vinylmation Jr Sets
On its official blog, Disney Vinylmation has offered up a preview of an upcoming series first mentioned at its recent Trade City, USA event.
Vinylmation Celebrations offers up multiple occasions to celebrate such as graduation and just saying thank you, as pictured to the left. Each 3″ figure (the larger ones shown) comes in an open-window box so you’ll be able to see which one you’re purchasing, but the accompanying Vinylmation Jr figure (the smaller ones shown) will not be visible within the package so you won’t know which one you’ll get until you purchase the set.
The series is set to be released some time in 2010/2011.

MINDstyle Re-imagines Popular Stitch Vinyl Collectibles by Eric Tan and Jenny Chung
MINDstyle has recently previewed a couple of exciting new Stitch-inspired art toy collectibles (ATCs) by Eric Tan and Jenny Chung inspired by their previous creations.
A smaller version of Jenny Chung’s Lilo CosPlay Experiment 626 figure was available exclusively as a purchase with purchase at the D23 Expo in 2009. Guests who made a qualifying purchase (it was the TRON-painted V.I.N.CENT for myself) were able to purchase up to three of the CosPlay figures for $23 each. To their credit, however, MINDstyle added to each pre-order an additional figure gratis due to some complications with order fulfillment. Now Chung has followed up with a new Lilo CosPlay figure inspired by the Experiment 626 project, this time Lilo is dressed as Stitch’s gal-pal, Angel. Perhaps most remarkable of all, MINDstyle says it will be available at select Disney Store locations this holiday season.
Although MINDstyle apparently has given a first look of it several months ago, it has recently announced that Eric Tan’s Lava Stitch vinyl collectible, a follow-up to the Tiki Stitch, will also be available for this holiday season at select retail locations, although presumably not Disney Store.

‘Squirrel Baby’ from ‘LOST’ Seeks Home at Memorabilia Auction
With an estimated value of $300 – $500, Claire’s ’squirrel baby’ from ‘LOST’ season six episode The Lighthouse is just one of many of the fascinating memorabilia items that will be up for bids at Profile in History’s ‘LOST’ Exhibit and Auction in Santa Monica on August 21 and 22.
After three years of living alone on the island, Claire kept a substitute baby fashioned of animal parts with buttons for eyes. When Kate questioned Claire about what it was, Claire told her it was ‘all I had.’
In the clip below, the cast, crew and creators of ‘LOST’ ponder the charm and magic of what is affectionately known as the squirrel baby.
The clip is from just one of the many bonus features found in the ‘LOST’ season six DVD collection, now available for pre-order.

Disney Store ‘Belle’ Limited Edition Doll Now Available for Pre-Order; Hi-Res Photo
The
Disney Store has provided us with this hi-res photo of the new Disney Store exclusive limited edition Belle doll which will be available to own on October 5, the same day Beauty and the Beast is being released on Disney Blu-ray/DVD.
The exquisite 16″ doll which is limited to just 5,000 pieces worldwide joins Snow White and Tiana as the third princess in this highly collectible series from Disney Store which has consistently and rapidly sold out completely very shortly after their respective releases.
With its intricate details inspired by 18th century French fashion, this beautifully designed Belle doll captures the essence of the Beauty that turned a Beast into a handsome prince. The elegance of her golden satin dress is enhanced by the intricate layers of gathering, each punctuated by a shimmering golden rhinestone. The bodice is accented with five perfect golden roses, each capped by a single glittering stone, and gleaming golden jeweled strands which add to the magical look befitting a Disney Princess. A delicate swag of luxurious chiffon held in place by gorgeous golden roses adds the perfect touch to an exquisite gown. Belle holds a single glittering red rose; a fitting testament to the power of true love.
Belle retails for $99.95 and comes complete with a stand and certificate of authenticity (COA). She will not be bundled with an edition of the film.
