Possibly exchanging fradulent Disney Pins for cigarettes, the Associated Press is reporting that Robert Smyrak, 52, of Anaheim, California and Larry Allred , 57, of Walnut, California were charged yesterday in Orange County for importing counterfeit goods in the form of Disney pins.
Today, Disney Store celebrated the launch of Kidada for Disney Store, an exclusive collection with celebrity designer and Disney enthusiast, Kidada Jones. The Charming Collection is a mix of apparel, jewelry, a limited edition Vinylmation figure and Wish-a-Littles, Kidada’s design twist on Disney Princess. The Kidada for Disney Store collection is designed to inspire the dreamer in all of us.
“With this classic collection, Kidada brings a unique and whimsical vision to the beloved Disney characters,” said Jim Fielding, president of Disney Stores Worldwide. “Disney Store’s reinvention over the last two years has taken us to magical new heights and our collaboration with Kidada Jones is the first of many that will position us as a retail destination where guests will find designer collections and unexpected surprises.”
Created in partnership with Sideshow Collectibles, this 18″x24″ follow-up to the Steamboat Willie print will retail for $45 and will be limited a print run of just 325 pieces.
It will go on sale this Thursday, May 5, 2011 at MondoTees.com at a random time. Those interested in purchasing the poster are advised to follow @MondoNews on Twitter for the sale announcement as the Mondo prints have been known to sell out completely in seconds.
Ever since DisneyStore.com began teasing the new Kidada Jones for Disney Store collection late last week, the internet has been a-buzz with the Wish-a-Littles and what magic they would bring when they are fully revealed on Wednesday, May 4. Through a little magic of our own, however, we are pleased to bring you this pre-veal of the entire Charming Collection by Kidada as well as other items from the collection including jewelry, tees and tote bags.
Some of the items have already been leaked, such as the 9″ Vinylmation figure which we now know to be limited to an edition size of just 500 pieces. Each figure also comes with a mini bow charm bracelet.
According to Melt Comics, this is a 9″ vinylmation designed by Kidada Jones for Disney store. Aside from Minnie Mouse peeking through a porthole and a portion of a porthole ‘below’ the feet, the vinylmation appears to represent something edible complete with sprinkles and heart shaped candies.
According to the site, this figure will be released exclusively at the Disney Store Times Square in New York City on May 4. Disney Store President Jim Fielding has added via twitter that the collection itself will be available online and at five Disney Store locations, one of which being Times Square. No additional information has been provided at this time.
Considered some of the most benevolent persons on this great planet, as well as being modest to levels extreme, we concede that the only forgivable reason for chopping a princess in half is to count her rings and determine her true age. That said, we couldn’t help but notice that on May 10, Disney Consumer Products is giving away a Snow White figure by Kidada (a.k.a. the Wish A Littles) and that her body is trimmer than usual as she is pictured.

Whilst on vacation at Walt Disney World in 1978, John Lamouranne was inspired to paint an egg for his daughter for Easter, portraying images such as the Monorail, the Contemporary Resort, Cinderella Castle and Disney characters. After honing his new craft, he made the natural leap to crafting whole bodies of personalities using eggs as his base as his art. Today, he is known as the ‘Egg Man.’
