Limited to an edition size of 250 pieces, this tribute to the Walt Disney classic animated film is silk screened and measures 12″ x 36″. It will retail for $60.
Even if he’s not recognized by name, the most casual of Disney Parks guest is likely to be familiar with the work of ‘multimedia dimensional artist’ Dave Avanzino. Among his prized works include shadowboxed themed signs — such as Disney theme park names or lands — in which the letters are comprised of 3-dimensional paper sculpture ‘objects’ that are related to the theme being spelled out.
Those who attended last year’s Disney D23 Expo may have also met Avanzino himself inside the D23 Dream Store. There, Avanzino was testing out a pilot program in which attendees could commission their own personalized sign and choose from a wide assortment of themed alphabets and mix’n’match for the desired effect.
Proving there is no product in this universe safe from the attraction of the Disney brand, Panasonic’s Sanyo will be introducing Disney-inspired NiMH rechargeable batteries this March in Japan. Marketed under the banner of Walt Disney’s 110th Anniversary, the collectible batteries will be available in both Mickey and Minnie styles as well as a collection highlighting several popular Disney characters in a hand-drawn, kawaii style.
The kawaii batteries celebrate love and friendship by coupling Disney characters together such as Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Stitch and Scrump, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, Ariel and Flounder, Dumbo and Timothy and Lady and Tramp.

Earlier today, the official Disney Parks blog offered a first look at some of the new merchandise that will be available aboard the Disney Cruise Line Disney Fantasy for her Maiden Voyage and Inaugural Voyage Season. We are now pleased to bring you a first look at the limited edition items that will be available only to those sailing on the maiden voyage.
DisneyStore.com today unveiled a whole new line of collectibles titled ‘Cutesations.’ Consisting of 5″ plush, Cutesations are series of 8 related plush, blind-boxed (a la Vinylmation). The inaugural series is inspired by Alice in Wonderland and consists of Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Like Vinylmation, Cutesations are blind-boxed so you never know which one you’ll get, but unlike Vinylmation, they cost just $6.50 each. There also seems to appear no tray option, but rather a collectible plush stand (a mushroom in this case) which is only available as part of the complete set, for a premium — $79.50, which places the value of the mushroom stand and the guarantee of a complete set at nearly $30. Cutesations are available exclusively at DisneyStore.com and Disney Store retail locations.
Also being released today from DisneyStore.com is (most of) POP! Vinyl Series 3 by Funko for Disney Store as well as a new line of fashion items (mostly girls’ tees) inspired by entries in the collection such as Woody, Tinker Bell and Snow White.
To find these items, visit DisneyStore.com and in the ‘what are you searching for?’ box, enter in CUTESATIONS or POP.
Two-Gun Mickey features both Mickey Mouse and Pegleg Pete and pays tribute to the 1934 classic short in which Minnie makes a large withdrawal from the town bank and runs into Pete and his gang. It’s then up to cowboy Mickey to ride in and save the day.
The 18″x24″ screen print will retail for $45 and will be limited a print run of just 370 pieces.
Funko, who counts Disney Store amongst its licensors, recently teased a spin-off of its popular POP! Disney Vinyl collection on the popular fan-based FunkoFanatic forums. Here, Maleficent is seen in three different sizes (the same photo using Mickey Mouse as an example was also posted).
No timeframe for their release has been offered, but according to Funko, the mini collection will consist of only a percentage of the figures released and they will be available only as themed 2-packs (or possibly 3- and 4-packs).
As previously reported, wave three (of at least four) of the popular collectible series will be available exclusively at Disney Store beginning in January 2012.
