Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios have offered several STEM-related contests in the past tied to films, often limiting entries to girls in particular to encourage their science and math educations. For Captain America: Civil War, however, they’re raising the stakes, offering a top prize of an internship with Marvel Studios.

Disney D23, the official club for fans of The Walt Disney Company, today announced details for two of its upcoming events at the 2015 D23 Expo: the Mousequerade costume contest and the return of the fan art contest, now called the ‘D23 Expo Design Challenge.’
Walt Disney Studios has announced via a teaser video (embedded below) that shortly before midnight ET on New Year’s Eve 2014, it will be sharing a brand new exclusive look at its upcoming film Cinderella (March 13, 2015), the live-action adaptation of the classic Disney animated film. The sneak peek will air during ‘Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve’ on the ABC television network.
Disney Parks is also sharing in the Cinderella celebration as part of the #Midnight campaign. Visitors to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World today are receiving a button featuring the film and we are also told displays — complete with video screens — promoting the film are flanking Cinderella castle.

Today in a special video message from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, director J.J. Abrams announced the creation of ‘Star Wars: Force for Change,’ a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm in collaboration with Bad Robot dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for the United Nations Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF) Innovation Labs and its innovative programs that are benefiting the world’s most vulnerable children.
In what has to be one of the largest single Walt Disney World giveaways to date, ESPN Wide World of Sports is launching its ‘Play in the Magic’ sweepstakes at 12 pm on January 24, 2014 and the payoff will be huge. In addition to the opportunity to win instant prizes, the grand prize winner will receive airfare, lodging, park admission and even $50 gift cards for each of the winner and their guests, up to fourteen of them (for a total of fifteen guests).
As park of the Disney Parks ‘Disney Side’ campaign, The Walt Disney Company is awarding a five-day/4-night vacation for four to one lucky entrant including theme park tickets, roundtrip airfare, hotel stay, $500 Disney gift card and a Disney PhotoPass CD with a sweepstakes it has dubbed ‘Show Your Ears.’ Five first place winners will receive a $100 Disney gift card.

Beginning today at noon, Disney Parks and Resorts will begin giving away 725 pairs of tickets to what’s being called the ‘Disney Side Event,’ taking place in Stage 17 at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort on November 5, 2013.
The giveaway is titled ‘Social Media All Stars Disney Side Event Ticket Giveaway’ and will run through November 1. It will involve 19 people dubbed ‘social influencers’ who will post — without advanced notice — a ‘fire drill alert’ calling for entrants to ‘show off your Disney Side in style.’ The first x entrants to respond to the ‘fire drill alert’ and click on the respective link will win a pair of park tickets good for November 5, 2013, to attend the event. The alerts, which will max out at 22, will come unannounced through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine via the ‘social influencer’s’ account.
In celebration of Disneyland’s 58th anniversary today, D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has launched the “Off the Map Sweepstakes.” Twenty-five lucky D23 Members and their guests will be invited to Disneyland Park to visit four of the park’s little-seen but widely heard of locations: Walt Disney’s private apartment, the Lilly Belle VIP parlor car on the Disneyland Railroad, Circle D Ranch, and the Disneyland Dream Suite.
