Also a whimsical sweet shop serving handmade gelato and the ever-popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will debut after the Disney Dream undergoes dry dock Oct. 4-24, 2015, in Freeport, Bahamas.

‘Tangled: The Musical’ to Debut in November Aboard Disney Magic with New Songs

“Tangled: The Musical” Coming to Disney Cruise Line‘Tangled: The Musical,’ which will immerse audiences in Rapunzel’s fairytale world through lavish production numbers and spellbinding music, will debut aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic beginning in November 2015, it was announced today. Three new songs created exclusively for this show by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and Grammy Award-winning lyricist Glenn Slater will bring the story to life onstage. ‘Frozen’ Event Coming to Disney Cruise Line in Summer 2015

Debuting this summer, on select Disney Magic and Disney Wonder sailings to Europe and Alaska, Disney Cruise Line guests are transported to the land of Frozen when the ship is transformed into a winter wonderland and a day of frozen fun culminates with an extravagant celebration with friends from the Kingdom of Arendelle.

Disney Cruise Line’s ‘Tangled’ to See the Light in May; ‘Frozen’ to Join ‘Golden Mickeys’?

First announced by Alan Menken during a press call ahead of his 2013 D23 Expo performance, it appears that the staged musical adaptation of Tangled will be making its Disney Cruise Line debut in May of 2015. The news was prompted by several casting calls announced on Disney’s official auditions calendar, which states that it is casting for an opening company with rehearsals to begin in January 2015 and to conclude in mid-May. As with most Disney Parks and Resorts entertainment, the show is being produced by Imagineering’s Disney Creative Entertainment division and will be directed by Gordon Greenberg, choreographed by Connor Gallagher, with Ed Whitlow as artistic and production director.

Before he sets sail this fall aboard Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic ship as the climax to the Avengers Academy experience for children, Marvel’s Captain America has decided to drop by the 2013 Disney D23 Expo to meet and greet with his fans at the Disney Parks / Walt Disney Imagineering ‘Journey into Imagineering’ pavilion. Marking Disney’s first foray into the world of Marvel when it comes to meet and greets, the Captain is making the occasion particularly special as he won’t necessarily be around to take photos with adults aboard the ship.

CONFIRMED: AquaDunk, Marvel Experience Coming to Disney Magic Cruise Ship

Disney Magic AquaDuckAt the ‘Monstrous Summer’ media event being held at the Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line today confirmed a Stitch Kingdom report that it will be bringing some of the more popular attractions and amenities of its Disney Dream and Fantasy cruise ships to the Disney Magic, the first of its four ships, when it goes into dry dock later in the year.

Included in the exciting additions are an abbreviated form of the industry-first AquaDuck waterslide, called the AquaDunk, which takes guests over the edge of the ship. The AquaDuck will be joined by the Fantasy’s water play area, the AquaLab, as well as a new waterslide dubbed the Twist N’ Spout. Additionally, a new infant/toddler water play area referred to as the Nephew’s Splash Zone.

The white sand beaches and azure waters of Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, take center stage in the early half of 2014 voyages for Disney Cruise Line. With all four Disney ships sailing from Florida ports, not only will guests have more options to visit Castaway Cay, but they may combine their cruise with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort and experience the expanded Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom.
