‘Girl Vs. Monster’ Disney Channel Original Movie Starts Production

Production has begun in Vancouver, Canada, on “Girl Vs. Monster” (working title), a Halloween-themed Disney Channel Original Movie starring popular actress Olivia Holt (of Disney XD’s “Kickin’ It”) as a teenager who, after inadvertently unleashing an immortal monster when defying her parents’ wishes to stay home, is shocked to discover the family secret that she is a fifth generation monster hunter. Olivia Holt performs two of the movie’s pop rock songs, “Had Me @Hello,” written by Dan Book, Alexei Misoul and Shelly Peiken, and “Fearless,” written by Jeannie Lurie, Aris Archontis and Chen Neeman.

‘Teen Beach Musical’ Original Movie Begins Production for Disney Channel

School’s out, surf’s up and Disney Channel is taking a dip into the teen beach party movie genre with “Teen Beach Musical,” a modern “no more complications, just good vibrations,” break into song and dance comedy in which surfer girl McKenzie and her boyfriend Brady literally go into a classic surf movie musical where it’s bikers versus surfers — and they’re in for trouble if they don’t back down. While they hatch a plan to get back home to present day, the duo try to blend in as everyone around them spontaneously breaks into song and dance. But when they interfere with the plot of the movie, their fate may be changed forever.

‘Radio Rebel’ Starring Debby Ryan to Premiere Ferbruary 17 on Disney Channel

Fan favorite Debby Ryan (“Jessie”) stars as a teen who secretly breaks free from her painfully shy self and into the persona of a bold podcast host who rocks her Seattle high school with music and the message to ‘be yourself,’ in Radio Rebel, a Disney Channel Original Movie based on the novel Shrinking Violet, premiering Friday, February 17 at 8:00 pm ET/PT.
