The open-box series of TRON: Legacy vinylmation figures are now available online at DisneyStore.com. The 3″ figure collection consists of Clu, Jarvis, Sam Flynn, Quorra, Rinzler, Zuse and two Kevin Flynns, representing both the 1982 original film and the 2010 sequel.
To purchase the figures while they last, visit DisneyStore.com and in the ‘what are you looking for?’ box at the top, type in ‘tron vinylmation.’
Inspired by two of the figures from the upcoming Urban Series 6 Vinylmation, Disney Design Group will be releasing two unique, limited edition mouse ears at D-Street at the Downtown Disney Districts at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts on March 18, 2011.
Based on a figure designed by artist Doug Strayer, the viking mouse ears will be limited to an edition size of 1,000 pieces.
The gumball machine ears are based on a figure designed by Caley Hicks and will be limited to an edition size of 800 pieces.
Both ears were designed by artist Maria Clapsis and will retail for $49.95.
It’s been eons since the closure of Mickey’s Toontown Fair at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and it will surely be a few days before it’s forgotten — strike that, reverse it. Fortunately Disney Design Group has hearkened back to days of yore at Toontown’s Wiseacre Farms and will soon release its Park Series 5 9″ figure that pays homage to Goofy’s Barnstormer. The figure is set to be released at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts on February 25.
It can also be ordered online.
Also releasing the same day is a 2×3″ ‘TaleSpin’ pack featuring figures of Baloo and Kit from the Disney Afternoon television favorite. The set, which will retail for $24.95 and is limited to an edition size of 1,000 pieces will be released online through DisneyStore.com.
Note that the TalesSpin set’s release has been delayed until March 5.

Via its official blog, Disney Design Group has announced that Lin Shih’s Disneyland Resort A-E Ticket Vinylmation set, honoring the original ride ticketing system, will be released at D-Street in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort on December 10. The edition will be limited to a size of 1955 sets (in honor of Disneyland’s opening year) and will retail for $99.95.
The set will also be available in a very limited quantity on DisneyStore.com, so check with Stitch Kingdom daily for its DisneyStore.com updates to get your hands on this prized set.
Following up on his incredibly well received Vinylmation projects, Disney Fine Artist Noah has announced that he will introducing a second line of 15 custom 9″ figures inspired by TRON: Legacy which will debut at the D23 event on December 3 at the TRON Pop-Up Shop at Royal-T in Culver City, CA. Following the release of the second 9″ series, Noah will introduce three series of 3″ figures. All of the figures will be exclusive to the TRON Pop-Up Shop.
The Disney Design Group and Disney Store have released a full list of Disney Store locations that either currently sell or will sell Vinylmation products. According to the entry on the Vinylmation blog, all the stores listed will carry Vinylmation items by the end of September 2010, but not all stores will carry all available Vinylmation items. The blog also alludes to the fact that Disney Store will soon be offering its own Vinylmations exclusive to Disney Store, as we first revealed on Twitter when we were told about select stores selling Vinylmation at a Disney Consumer Products event back in June.
On its official blog, Disney Vinylmation has offered up a preview of an upcoming series first mentioned at its recent Trade City, USA event.
Vinylmation Celebrations offers up multiple occasions to celebrate such as graduation and just saying thank you, as pictured to the left. Each 3″ figure (the larger ones shown) comes in an open-window box so you’ll be able to see which one you’re purchasing, but the accompanying Vinylmation Jr figure (the smaller ones shown) will not be visible within the package so you won’t know which one you’ll get until you purchase the set.
The series is set to be released some time in 2010/2011.
In addition to the Annual Passholder exclusive Mr. Toad 3″ Vinylmation figure being released at the Disneyland Resort on August 27, the Toy Story collection will also be making its debut at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World at D-Street in the Downtown Disney district. The Mr. Toad 3″ vinylmation will be available to annual passholders at Walt Disney World on August 29.
Also on August 27, the Animal Kingdom series will be released only at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort. Meanwhile, the Disney Pin Trading 10th Anniversary 9″ and 3″ will be available at the Disneyland Resort (also available now at DisneyStore.com)
In regards to the Trade City, USA Vinylmation event taking place August 29 at Epcot, there will be a silent auction which includes many one-of-a-kind, original production, pre-production variations of Vinylmation figures.
Pictured above is the 9″ Dr. Elias Frumberlockle Steampunk Vinylmation by Chris Chapman which comes complete as shown. Other unique 9″ figures include a pre-production of a canceled figure also by Chris Chapman called Moai and a Tiki figure by Adrienne Draude. Other 9″ figures such as SHAG’s Haunted Mansion 9″ & 3″ set, variations on the Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet 9″ and 3″ sets and more.
There will be one-of-a-kind 3″ clear glitter set along with figures from the Sports series #1 (in which the tennis ball has actual flocking), as well as variations on other collections in addition to many other Vinylmation collectibles.

Also available at the Trade City, USA event will be a limited number of Toy Story, Animal Kingdom, Mr. Toad and the Pin Trading 10th Anniversary 9″ and 3″ set.
On its official blog, Disney Vinylmation has introduced the Steampunk Vinylmation series which will see its debut at some point in 2011. Featured on the blog is artwork by Mike Sullivan as well as the hand-painted sample (pictured left).
The blog also recently announced that the upcoming Animal Kingdom series (name not related to the Walt Disney World theme park) will be open-box.
Plane Crazy Mickey (pictured) by Thomas Scott will come in a combo pack along with a random Park Series #4 figure.
Vinylmation Jr #2 which has already been released at the Disneyland Resort will be released this Friday at Walt Disney World as will the limited edition Vinylmation Condiments set, which will be available at both resorts. The 6 figure set is limited to 2,000 pieces and retails for $84.95.
In other news, @utedcp reports that the Toy Story vinylmation collection will be released at Walt Disney World’s D Street within the next week, according to Cast Members there, making the inquiry after we reported their current availability at the new Disney Store in Montebello. Vinylmation has made no formal announcement rgearding the series availability.
Vinylmation Offers First Look at Glow-in-the-Dark 3″ and 9″ Blank; Sets Date for Vinylmation, Jr. #2
The official Disney Vinylmation blog today features a first look at the 9″ and 3″ versions of the glow-in-the-dark Vinylmation ‘Create Your Own’ blank figures which it will be offering as a limited release at the Disneyland Resort later this week. No release dates have been set for the Walt Disney World Resort or DisneyStore.com yet.
The blog also lists a Disneyland Resort debut of June 18 for Vinylmation, Jr. Series #2.
