After premiering earlier tonight on Disney Channel, Walt Disney Music and VEVO have released the official music video for Dove Cameron’s sanitized cover of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie in a Bottle,’ which you can find embedded below. The single is currently available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon.
Popular Disney Channel star and recording artist Dove Cameron performs — as her fan favorite character Mal in Disney’s ‘Descendants’ — a new version of the pop song ‘Genie in a Bottle,’ in a music video premiering Friday, March 18 during a new ‘Stuck in the Middle’ episode (8:30-9:00 p.m. EDT) on Disney Channel. The track will be available from Walt Disney Records at all download stores (iTunes) and streaming services on Friday, March 18.
The Disney Channel Original Movie powerhouse Disney’s Descendants, which has already spawned a prequel book, another upcoming book (Return to the Isle of the Lost), multiple web series and an upcoming sequel, now has its own line of Pop! vinyl collectibles from Funko.
Available with Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the initial wave is expected to arrive in May/June 2016 and is currently available for pre-order.

Yesterday, Walt Disney World taped several performances for its upcoming ‘2015 Disney Parks Unforgettable Christmas Celebration’ annual parade special which will air on ABC on December 25 at 10 am ET, 9 am all other time zones. Disney Parks has provided us with several photos from the taping which included performances by Reba McEntire, Seal, Charlie Puth, Tori Kelly, David Foster and the cast of ‘Descendants’ (Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson), along with appearances by ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star Janel Parrish. Back in July, we shared news that Disney Mobile had released a ‘Disney Descendants’ theme app in Australia, where the company historically debuts games early as a way to test them to the open market and work out any bugs before releasing to larger markets including the US. Today, Disney Interactive has confirmed the news by releasing a teaser trailer which is embedded below:

A sequel script to Disney’s Descendants (working title: Descendants 2) has been commissioned from the first movie’s screenwriters, Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon, who will also serve as executive producers on the project. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, President and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. Descendants is cable television’s fifth highest-rated movie of all-time.
On Saturday, October 17, the stars of Disney’s Descendants, including Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson, and Kenny Ortega will celebrate with fans during an on-stage, music and dance-filled event at Downtown Disney District, Disneyland Resort, in Anaheim, California.
Ubisoft has debuted the trailer for its upcoming title ‘Just Dance Disney Party 2‘ which was presented this past weekend at Disney D23 Expo’s center stage. You can find the announcement trailer below, with the game already available for pre-order with an anticipated release date of October 20, 2015.

At BookCon earlier this year, New York Times best-selling author and author of Disney Descendants prequel, Isle of the Lost, Melissa de la Cruz, announced that there would be a sequel to the book, expected in May of 2016.
Today, additional details of the upcoming title have been released. Return to the Isle of the Lost is now slated for publication on May 10, 2016, presumably aligned for a sequel to the telefilm for summer 2016 as well. Like the original book, Disney is listing a pagecount of 320 pages for the upcoming sequel. The preliminary publisher’s description is as follows:
Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack for Disney’s ‘Descendants’ on Friday, July 31, the day the eagerly-anticipated movie premieres on Disney Channel. The soundtrack pre-order is available now on Amazon. It features the single ‘Believe,’ performed and written by 16 year-old recording artist Shawn Mendes and original songs performed by the ‘Descendants’ cast plus bonus tracks and a score suite.
Beginning Tuesday, June 16, Shawn Mendes’ ‘Believe’ single will be available as a song purchase or free with the purchase of the ‘Descendants’ soundtrack at select digital retailers. The song will premiere in the U.S. and Canada, Monday, June 15 on Radio Disney at 7 pm ET /4 pm PT.
