The Disneyland Resort has already announced its ambitious plans for new entertainment to commence with its 60th Anniversary celebration that commences on May 22, 2015, but as it turns out, there may be some cards up its sleeve. While we did previously report a rumor that there would be a new parade for Disney California Adventure, nothing has yet to be officially announced.
The official Disney Parks blog today confirmed an earlier report by us speculating that virtual choir maestro Eric Whitacre would be teaming up with the Disneyland Resort to produce a special presentation of his composition ‘Glow’ written for the seasonal ‘World of Color – Holiday Dreams’ at Disney California Adventure.
Submissions are now being accepted, from which 500 performers will be selected and added into the show. Deadline for auditions are set for Sunday, October 6 at midnight Pacific time. A website with more information as well as a forum to answer questions and offer guidance has been set up at WorldOfColorHonorChoir.com.
As we previously reported, beginning November 15, 2013, Disney California Adventure will present a new holiday version of its ‘World of Color’ nighttime show, dubbed ‘World of Color — Winter Dreams.’ The show — which will be hosted by Olaf from Disney’s Frozen — will introduce new special effects along to a brand new cut of the show which will feature animation from Frozen as well as winter scenes from beloved Disney animated classics such as Bambi, Fantasia and Toy Story.
‘World of Color — Winter Dreams,’ an all-new holiday version of the popular ‘World of Color’ after-dark spectacular, will debut at Disney California Adventure Park, Friday, November 15, adding even more merriment to the holiday season at the Disneyland Resort.
Hosted by Olaf the snowman, from the upcoming Walt Disney Pictures animated feature Frozen, the ‘World of Color — Winter Dreams’ show combines new animation with classic winter scenes from such beloved Disney films as Bambi, Fantasia and Toy Story. The show will include new special effects and present some new methods for utilizing the massive ‘stage’ of water, color and light on which ‘World of Color’ is presented.

Advertised as one of its Limited Time Magic events exclusively for Passholders, the Disneyland Resort has announced that it will be offering annual passholders to attend a special presentation of the Animation Academy, located at the Animation Building at Disney California Adventure, hosted by animator Eric Goldberg, best known for characters such as Genie, Phil, Louis and Rabbit.
Goldberg will offer four presentations to passholders for free on May 17, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. Registration is required to receive a wristband for admission and can be obtained on May 17 at the Animation Building beginning at official park opening.
Disney Parks has updated its ‘Limited Time Magic’ schedule to include events that begin today, February 1 and run through February 11, 2013.
At the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort is the ‘Countdown to Super Sunday,’ running from February 1 through February 9. There will be a daily pre-parade including an MVP appearance on February 4. Just before the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade, Disney football ‘star’ Goofy will hit the streets of the park for a lively pigskin celebration.
While the Walt Disney World Resort has had gaming experiences for some time such as Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and soon A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas, the Disneyland Resort has appeared to escaped unscathed from the diversions. In truth, the resort has quietly been working on a project called Disney Kudos, which up until now has been mostly a mystery.
The Disneyland Resort has announced that it will allow its annual passholders to experience Cars Land up to two hours after the Disney California Adventure theme park closes to day guests on Thursday evenings throughout February 2013.
All participating Annual Passholders and their Guests (ages 3 and older) must be valid Annual Passholders on the day of entry for admission to the Park, for check-in and admission to the Annual Passholder Extended Hours event.
