New ‘Mickey Mouse’ Shorts to Premiere on Disney Channel April 11

(DISNEY CHANNEL) MICKEY MOUSE, MINNIE MOUSESeason two of ‘Mickey Mouse,’ the multiple Emmy and Annie Award-winning comedy cartoon spotlighting Disney’s #1 star, debuts on Friday, April 11 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel and will be available on WATCH Disney Channel, Disney.com and iTunes the day after their linear premiere. Since its debut in June 2013, the series has reached over 100 million total viewers in the U.S. and currently airs in 160 countries in 33 languages.

TOY FAIR: ‘Star Wars Rebels’ Calendar Names New Characters in Art

'Star Wars Rebels' CalendarOne of the hotter properties at the 111th Annual International Toy Fair in New York is Disney XD’s and Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars series, ‘Star Wars Rebels.’ Although Lucasfilm has slowly been offering up character reveals and tidbits surrounding the new show, details have been slowly leaking through upcoming products including this 16-month 2015 calendar from Trends International.

'Star Wars Rebels' CalendarThe back of the calendar reveals the art for each of the months which either depicts characters engaging in battle, group shots or individual poses which also names them. In chronological order, the reveals/non-reveals are: Ezra, Hera, Chopper, Kanan, Sabine (depicted wearing a helmet as well as not), Inquisitor and Zeb.

TOY FAIR: ‘Gravity Falls’ Merchandise Arriving in Fall 2014

Fans have been clamoring for ‘Gravity Falls’ merchandise since the show began in 2012 and now that it’s proven itself with a new series on the way, along with the ‘Mabel’s Guide’ short-form series and a line of series-inspired books, merchandising will soon be hitting the shelf.

At the 111th Annual International Toy Fair currently being held in New York, we were able to meet with Jazwares who is getting ready to launch an entire line of ‘Gravity Falls’ toys beginning in fall of 2014. While no photos were allowed of the products we saw (and not all the information was readily available), we did learn a few details which you’ll find below.

‘Sofia the First’ New Season Adds A-List of Guest Voices; Snow White to Appear in April

PRINCESS SOFIA, PRINCESS SNOW WHITE &copy DISNEY JUNIOR Season two of Disney Junior’s hit animated series ‘Sofia the First,’  is set to debuts on Friday, March 7 at 9:30 am ET/PT on Disney Channel. For the second season, the series has rounded up some amazing talent to lend their voices to characters appearing throughout the season. Among the guest stars are: Alyson Hannigan (‘How I Met Your Mother’) as a young faun who always felt she wasn’t special enough; Ginnifer Goodwin (‘Once Upon A Time’) as the castle’s kitchen maid who aspires to be an inventor; Melissa Rauch (‘The Big Bang Theory’) as Ruby’s fairy godmother; Anna Camp and John Michael Higgins (both of Pitch Perfect) as a charmingly sinister princess and a tall fire-breathing dragon; Isla Fisher (The Great Gatsby) and Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) as two adventurous young sprites; Nick Offerman (‘Parks and Recreation’) as a well-connected fox who reigns over Enchancia’s woodland creatures; Robert Morse (‘Mad Men’) as an elderly retired sorcerer; Christian Borle (‘Smash’) as an ambitious, young castle steward out to take Baileywick’s job; Oliver Platt (‘The West Wing’) as a sickly old dragon; Tracey Ullman (‘The Tracey Ullman Show’) as a happily wicked witch; and Phylicia Rashad (‘The Cosby Show’) as a cranky ice witch who eventually allows her heart to be melted by the power of music.

‘Ella the Elephant’ to Debut on Disney Channel, Disney Junior on February 17

'Ella the Elephant'‘Ella the Elephant,’ a new animated preschool series about an adventurous elephant and her magic hat, will make its debut Monday, February 17 on Disney Channel (7:00 am ET/PT) and Disney Junior (1:00 pm ET/PT). Thereafter, the series will air weekdays on Disney Channel and Disney Junior as well as weekends on Disney Junior. The series is produced by DHX Media (‘Caillou,’ ‘Teletubbies,’ ‘Yo Gabba Gabba!’), a leading international producer and distributor of globally recognized children’s entertainment, in association with Canada’s TVO Kids and FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment.

‘Gravity Falls’ ‘Mabel’s Guide to Life’ Short Form Series to Premiere in February

Disney Channel has announced that the week of February 3, it will be launching a new short-form series based on its popular ‘Gravity Falls’ cartoon, titled ‘Mabel’s Guide to Life.’ A new episode is set to premiere each night, February 3 – 7, at 7:55 pm ET/PT. The schedule and individual episode synopses follow:

Mabel’s Guide to Dating (Monday, February 3)
Mabel gives her thoughts on dating and puts her dating quiz to the test with three of Gravity Falls’ most eligible bachelors — Grunkle Stan, Dipper and Soos.

‘Sofia the First: The Floating Palace’ on DVD in April

'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella'Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie-rella will be available to down on DVD on February 11, 2014 (now available for pre-order, three days before it is set to premiere on Disney Channel and Disney Junior, on February 14.

In the special episode, our pals need to get Minnie a surprise present, so they keep her busy with plenty of chores to do at the Clubhouse. Tired from so much work, Minnie falls asleep and dreams that she is Minnie-rella! Inspired by the fairy tale of Cinderella, the story of Minnie-rella sparkles with music and fun as we recognize our favorite Clubhouse characters in familiar roles.

Disney Channel’s ‘Descendants’ to Feature Teenage Kids of Classic Villains, Premiere in 2015

Disney's DescendantsCasting is underway for Disney’s Descendants, a contemporary live-action adventure-comedy that taps into Disney’s heritage characters — notably its most evil villains — to introduce their progeny, a modern day generation of teenagers who ultimately question the evil that’s always been in their hearts.

Kenny Ortega, the Emmy Award-winning director and choreographer of Disney’s record-setting High School Musical TV movies and feature film, returns to Disney Channel to direct Descendants. The casting directors are Natalie Hart and Jason La Padura, C.S.A..
