Twenty-six stars of Disney’s hit programming for kids and tweens perform a new interpretation of the song ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’ from Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated film Frozen. The new pop arrangement of the song will debut Friday, July 18 on Radio Disney; its music video will premiere on the popular WATCH Disney Channel app for verified users on Friday, July 18 and Sunday, July 20 on Disney Channel.
Yesterday, Lucasfilm introduced a new character from its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ — Agent Kallus, an Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) agent. Voiced by David Oyelowo, Kallus is described a ‘ruthless, unforgiving, and an example of the Empire’s tyranny.’ Also described as a ‘rebel hunter,’ Kallus’ position is on the ground, leading stormtroopers in face-to-face battles against anti-Imperial groups — and his combat skills are impressive, including the use of a modified version of Zeb’s honor guard staff.
Laura Marano and Leigh-Allyn Baker team up to star in the comedic buddy adventure Bad Hair Day, a Disney Channel Original Movie scheduled to premiere in 2015. Leigh-Allyn Baker makes her foray into producing as executive producer of the movie.
Marano stars as a high school tech whiz who’s bound and determined to be crowned prom queen. But on the big day, everything that can go wrong does go wrong, starting with her sudden and epically uncontrollable hair and her once lovely yet now destroyed prom dress. She soon comes to rely on a down-on-her-luck cop (Baker) who’s in pursuit of a missing necklace that the teen unwittingly has in her possession. Prom day goes from bad to mad as the pair is pursued by a dogged jewel thief on a wild ride across the city. Christian Campbell has been cast as the jewel thief.
Disney Publishing Worldwide today announced it will be publishing a prequel to the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, titled Isle of the Lost. It will be written by bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz, whose previous titles include The Witches of East End and Blue Bloods. It will be available in hardcover on May 5, 2015.
Legend has it that long ago, the most infamous villains were imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, cut off from the rest of the world as a punishment for their misdeeds. In this dark and dreary place, the likes of Maleficent, Jafar, Cruella de Vil and the Evil Queen reside and evil reigns supreme. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are their descendants, the teenaged sons and daughters of the Isle’s most villainous characters, and they are coming of age on the Isle of the Lost.

Disney Television Animation has begun production on ‘Pickle & Peanut,’ a buddy-comedy series about two unlikely friends – an emotional pickle and a freewheeling peanut – voiced by Jon Heder and Johnny Pemberton respectively.
Scheduled for a fall 2015 premiere on Disney XD, ‘Pickle & Peanut’ employs an innovative mix of 2-D animation and live-action clips to tell the small-town adventures of two underdogs who dream up plans to be anything but ordinary. The series was created by Noah Z. Jones and developed by Joel Trussell. Both Jones and Trussell serve as executive producers. Mark Rivers is the story editor.
‘Pirate and Princess: Power of Doing Good,’ a pro-social touring event to introduce kids age 2-7 to the value of doing good, including caring for nature and animals and helping others, will begin Thursday, July 17 in Philadelphia before carrying on to Washington D.C., New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Designed for kids and families, the tour is sponsored by Disney Junior, ASPCA, Youth Service America (YSA), National Wildlife Federation and First Book. Season two of Disney’s popular animated comedy series ‘Gravity Falls,’ starring Jason Ritter and Kristen Schaal as Dipper and Mabel Pines, twins who spend the summer with their eccentric Great Uncle Stan (aka Grunkle Stan) will debuts Friday, August 1 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel and on Disney XD on August 4 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. Future new episodes will then debut on Disney XD with subsequent airings on Disney Channel.
An adventure and action-filled television special, ‘Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars’ is set to premiere on Disney Channel on Saturday, July 26 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. The story is set a couple summers ago in a galaxy far, far away when Phineas, Ferb and the gang are in a parallel universe during Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Iconic Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 are featured in this special programming event. A first look will be available to verified WATCH Disney Channel users and Disney XD On Demand a week prior on July 19.
