Disney Channel defeated second-place CBS by over 4 million viewers.

The Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) captured 60 Primetime Emmy nominations, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This total reflects nominations for ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC.com and Disney Channel programming.
The ABC Television Network received 56 nominations, including a Drama Series and Writing in a Drama Series nomination for previous Emmy winner “Lost,” produced by ABC Studios, and key nominations in the acting categories: Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Sally Field for “Brothers and Sisters”; Christina Applegate captured a Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her starring role in “Samantha Who?”; Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson both were recognized in the Supporting Actress Drama category for their roles on “Grey’s Anatomy”; “Lost’s” Michael Emerson, a past Emmy winner for a guest appearance on “The Practice,” captured his third straight Supporting Actor nomination as the mysterious Benjamin Linus; William Shatner was recognized with a Supporting Actor nomination for the last season of “Boston Legal,” along with his co-star Christian Clemenson; Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nominations went to previous Emmy nominees Kristin Chenoweth for “Pushing Daisies” and Vanessa Williams for “Ugly Betty.”
Burbank, July 15, 2009 … Radio Disney will present the world premiere of Demi Lovato’s new album, “Here We Go Again,” on SATURDAY, JULY 18 (7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT) during Radio Disney’s Planet Premiere, a regular feature presentation from the authority on the music kids love and parents trust. Disney Channel has ordered “Good Luck Charlie,” an original live-action comedy series about a family whose lives are turned topsy-turvy with the arrival of a new baby sister. The multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood in August for a scheduled 2010 premiere on Disney Channels around the world.
Starring are Bridgit Mendler, a recurring guest star on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place” and guest star on “JONAS,” as Teddy Holliday; Jason Dolley, known to Disney Channel viewers from his headlining roles in “Hatching Pete,” “Minutemen” and “Cory in the House,” as Casey Holliday; introducing Bradley Steven Perry as Gabe Holliday; Eric Allan Kramer (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “My Name Is Earl”) as Bob Holliday; and Leigh Allyn Baker (“Will & Grace) as Amy Holliday.
Manhattan’s magical wizard siblings Alex, Justin and Max Russo accompany their parents on a Caribbean vacation where Alex’s inadvertent magic spell makes it so her parents have never met. When they learn the only thing that will reverse the spell is the magical Stone of Dreams, they embark on a quest through the jungle to find it, with time running out to save their family, in “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie,” an adventure comedy complete with over 350 special effects, premiering FRIDAY, AUGUST 28 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT) as part of the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise.
Filmed in San Juan Puerto Rico, the movie stars Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone, Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise in the roles they made popular in the hit series “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

Disney Channel will begin production later this summer on “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam,” the sequel to the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock,” with Demi Lovato, Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas reprising their starring roles. Joining the cast are Matthew “Mdot” Finley and Chloe Bridges. Also returning to the sequel’s cast are Meaghan Martin, Alyson Stoner, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Roshon Fegan, Daniel Fathers and Maria Canals-Barrera. “Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam” is scheduled to premiere in 2010 on Disney Channel.
“Camp Rock has had tremendous success around the world – on television, on DVD and as a soundtrack” said Gary Marsh, President, Entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide. “Our goal with this sequel is to raise the stakes and dig deeper into these wonderful characters and their musical journey.”

“Wizards of Waverly Place – Wizards vs. Vampires,” a four-episode programming event, follows the Russo family and their encounters with the Van Heusens, a family of vampires who own a competing sandwich shop, beginning FRIDAY, JULY 24 (8:00- 8:45 p.m. ET/PT) on Disney Channel.
Guest Starring is Bridgit Mendler (“JONAS”) as Justin’s vampire girlfriend, Juliet Van Heusen, and Anne Ramsay (“Mad About You”) and JD Cullum (“Good Night, and Good Luck”) as vampire parents Cindy and Alucard Van Heusen.

BURBANK, Calif., June 30 — Last week Disney Channel’s PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM was crowned royalty as TV’s number one entertainment telecast of 2009 in Kids 6-11 (3.1 million) and Tweens 9-14 (3.2 million) and as cable’s most watched scripted telecast (viewers) when the exciting adventure/comedy debuted. Since its premiere in EMEA in May ’09, and now the U.S. and Canada, Disney’s “Princess Protection Program” has reached 28.1 million unique Total Viewers around the world, including 3.7 million Kids 6-11 and 3.5 million Tweens 9-14 for the June 26th premiere.
Disney Channel has ordered a second season of its hit Playhouse Disney animated series, “Special Agent Oso,” starring Academy Award nominee Sean Astin. The announcement was made today by Nancy Kanter, senior vice president, Playhouse Disney Worldwide.
The interactive series emphasizes discovery, humor and organizational skills. Paying homage to special agent classics, the series follows Oso, voiced by Astin, a lovable yet bumbling stuffed panda bear who works for U.N.I.Q.U.E. (United Network for Investigating Quite Usual Events), an international organization of stuffed animals charged with helping kids accomplish everyday tasks such as mailing a letter, cleaning their room or learning how to use the library.
