WATCH: ‘Miles from Tomorrowland’ Full Trailer, Character Descriptions

Along with recent casting news that Olivia Munn will be assuming the role of Mom /aka/ Captain Phoebe Callisto, Disney Junior has released a full trailer for ‘Miles from Tomorrowland,’ premiering in February 2015. You can find the new trailer embedded below.

Set in outer space, the series charts the missions of the Callisto family – 7-year-old Miles, big sister Loretta and their scientist parents Phoebe and Leo, who work for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. Each episode features two 11-minute adventure-filled stories as Miles and his family explore strange new worlds, taking young viewers and their families on a journey that fuels kids’ natural interest in the universe, and at the same time reminding them that what matters most is what lies closer to home – the family bond.

‘Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy’ Featuring Rapunzel on DVD in February

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment today announced that ‘Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy,’ featuring Disney Princess Rapunzel, will be available to own on DVD on February 24, 2015 (now available for pre-order).

The revelation of a spellbinding secret sets in motion the most thrilling adventure in the history of Sofia the First! After learning that the Amulet of Avalor is magical, Amber snatches it while Sofia is sleeping. Unfortunately, she unwittingly unleashes a curse that summons evil Princess Ivy, who threatens to destroy the amulet, seize the crown and turn the entire kingdom black-and-white! Amber and Sofia soar through the skies on a flying dragon — aided by special guest Rapunzel — as they embark on a daring quest to defeat Ivy, break the curse and save Enchancia. FIRST LOOK: ‘Miles from Tomorrowland’ from Disney Junior

Disney Junior has released the first official title for its upcoming animated series, ‘Miles from Tomorrowland,’ which is scheduled to debut in 2015. You can find the teaser embedded below.

In an upcoming episode of Disney Channel’s ‘Girl Meets World,’ titled ‘Girl Meets Home for the Holidays,’ it’s Christmas at the Matthews, and Cory’s best friend Shawn Hunter, Riley’s grandparents, and Uncle Joshua are coming over for a holiday dinner. Meanwhile, Topanga works on executing the perfect meal to put her mother-in-law at ease while Shawn sees his likeness in Maya and forms a bond with her and Riley. Guest starring are Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter, Betsy Randle as Amy Matthews, William Russ as Alan Matthews and Uriah Shelton as Joshua Matthews.

‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ on DVD in January

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ — the next primetime special for the Disney Junior animated hit, which will air on October 26 — will be available to own on DVD on January 6, 2015. Now available for pre-order.

When Wendy’s special Storybook is stolen by Captain Hook, Jake and his mates go to London to help Peter Pan’s friend (from the classic movie Peter Pan). The longer the book is out of Wendy’s hands, the more she and her brothers (John and Michael) forget about their past adventures on Never Land. The battle for the book continues in Never Land, where Hook plans to destroy the book and its stories in the legendary Ring of Blue Fire. It’s up to our young heroes to save Wendy’s Storybook and the Story of Peter Pan!

‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ Featuring the Darlings to Premiere October 26

Jake and his crew of kid pirates take flight over London in Disney Junior’s ‘Jake and the Never Land Pirates: Battle for the Book!’ a primetime special premiering Sunday, October 26 at 6:00 pm ET/PT on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. Beloved Disney heritage characters Wendy, John and Michael Darling make their series debut in the music-filled special, with Maia Mitchell (Disney Channel’s ‘Teen Beach Movie’ and ABC Family’s ‘The Fosters’) voicing the role of Wendy and performing new original song ‘Once Upon A Time.’ Peter Pan and Tinker Bell will also appear.

‘Miles from Tomorrowland’ Logo, Additional Details Revealed

It’s been more than a year since we first learned about ‘Miles from Tomorrowland,’ an upcoming animated series from Disney Junior, which is slated for a 2015 debut. Since that time, not much else has been revealed about the program beyond the synopsis, but today we have acquired a few additional details thanks to a couple of upcoming books announced by Disney Publishing Worldwide.

Disney’s ‘Mickey Mouse: Season One’ on DVD in December

Ahead of any official announcement, Amazon has begun listing ‘Mickey Mouse: Season One‘ with a release date of December 2, 2014, although it’s worth noting that Walmart (where the artwork came from in this case) has been listing it for an August 26, 2014 release for some time now.

According to the new listing, the DVD will contain nineteen of the shorts from the award-winning series’ first season as well as a bonus ‘making of’ featurette. The bonus feature, ‘The Making of Disney Mickey Mouse,’ features creators discussing ‘the fun of working with one of the world’s most beloved and recognized characters as they create a fresh new take on an iconic character — Mickey Mouse — for the new millennium.’

Sofia the First’s ‘Holiday in Enchancia’ on DVD in November with Light-Up Ornament

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced it will be bringing the holiday episode from the popular Disney Junior franchise, ‘Holiday in Enchancia‘ to DVD on November 4, 2014 (now available for pre-order). The DVD will consist of the special plus four additional episodes as well as a free light-up holiday ornament. The episode has previously been released in book form.

When a snowstorm prevents King Roland from returning home in time for the holidays, Sofia leads her family on a brave expedition to find him. Princess Aurora from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty makes a special appearance to help Sofia and her animal friends reunite the royal family.

‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion,’ Series Premiere Dates Revealed

Ahead of any official announcements, we have learned that the global television debut of the hour-long special, ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ will premiere on Disney Channels around the world on Friday, October 3 at 9:00 pm ET/PT. Airing in 163 countries and in 34 languages, the series itself will also begin airing on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 9:00 pm ET/PT on Disney XD.

One day after the series begins airing, on October 14, the ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion’ episode will be available to own on DVD — now available for pre-order.
