Two years ago, ‘Gravity Falls’ made its San Diego Comic-Con debut. Then a fledgling animated series with just a few episodes aired, the series was intended to be spotlighted along with a few other Disney Television Animation (DTVA) shows in the panel held in a relatively small room. Much to everyone’s surprise — especially the series’ creator, Alex Hirsch, however, it was already a breakout hit with the fans and Stitch Kingdom is pleased to be able to say we were there (you can read the full report here). Fast forward to 2014 and ‘Gravity Falls’ was featured in its own panel, easily playing to a much larger, standing room only crowd.
Ahead of any official announcements, Walmart today began accepting pre-orders for two upcoming DVD releases: ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ and ‘Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars.’ Neither title offers a release date at this time, although the timing could not be more appropriate given the start of the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.
Presumably ‘Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion‘ is the full title of the upcoming hour-long special that will air in October, serving as the lead-in for the Disney XD series which takes place between Episodes III and IV in the Star Wars saga.
Just ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Lucasfilm has just released an extended trailer for its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels,’ which will debut as a one hour special on Disney XD in October.

Admittedly as much as we try, it’s darn next to impossible — actually probably right on top of impossible — to keep up with every single detail of every single project under the Disney umbrella — though we try! That’s why it came as a bit of a shock to us when we saw this cover for an upcoming 176-page original novel titled ”Star Wars Rebels Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy’ based on the upcoming Disney XD series.

Yesterday, Lucasfilm introduced a new character from its upcoming animated series, ‘Star Wars Rebels’ — Agent Kallus, an Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) agent. Voiced by David Oyelowo, Kallus is described a ‘ruthless, unforgiving, and an example of the Empire’s tyranny.’ Also described as a ‘rebel hunter,’ Kallus’ position is on the ground, leading stormtroopers in face-to-face battles against anti-Imperial groups — and his combat skills are impressive, including the use of a modified version of Zeb’s honor guard staff.
Laura Marano and Leigh-Allyn Baker team up to star in the comedic buddy adventure Bad Hair Day, a Disney Channel Original Movie scheduled to premiere in 2015. Leigh-Allyn Baker makes her foray into producing as executive producer of the movie.
Marano stars as a high school tech whiz who’s bound and determined to be crowned prom queen. She soon comes to rely on a down-on-her-luck cop (Baker) who’s in pursuit of a missing necklace that the teen unwittingly has in her possession. Prom day goes from bad to mad as the pair is pursued by a dogged jewel thief on a wild ride across the city. Christian Campbell has been cast as the jewel thief.

Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are their descendants, the teenaged sons and daughters of the Isle’s most villainous characters, and they are coming of age on the Isle of the Lost.
