Disney.com's 'U Rock' Holiday EditionThis Holiday season, Disney.com invites kids and teens to channel their inner rock star in the U Rock the Holidays event at Disney.com/URock. The online video promotion lets guests create their own music videos from a selection of holiday tunes from Disney artists, then upload them on Disney.com/URock. One grand prize winner will receive a trip to Los Angeles for a rare opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of a Disney music video and meet the artists!

To participate in U Rock the Holidays, Disney.com guests download one of the available :30 song clips, then create and upload their own music videos to the site. The videos will be posted in a gallery on the Disney.com/URock page where guests can then view, comment and “like” the video submissions. For some creative inspiration, guests can check out U Rock the Holidays video submissions from some of their favorite characters including The Muppets, WALL-E, Agent P and Swampy.

This year’s U Rock the Holidays song selections include:

  • “Dig Down Deeper” sung by Zendaya from Pixie Hollow Games
  • “Winter Vacation” from Phineas and Ferb Holiday Favorites
  • “Naughty Naughty Children (Better Start Actin’ Nice)” by Grace Potter from Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice on ABC
  • “Forget You” from Disney’s The Muppets Soundtrack

Additional songs will be released throughout the promotion to keep Disney.com guests rockin’ throughout the holiday season.

Each person who uploads an eligible video will receive the hit Disney Mobile app, “Where’s My Water?” To kick it up a notch, there will be a daily sweepstakes and winners will be randomly selected to receive a Disney prize pack, which will include a Walt Disney Records CD. A final grand prize winner will be selected by Disney.com and receive a trip to Los Angeles to go behind-the-scenes of a Disney music video production and meet the artists. Videos will be accepted from now until 4:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) on December 13, 2011. The winners will be announced in January 2012.

For even more rock star treatment, Casey and Tyler from Disney.com’s Rule the Mix web series will feature a video medley each week on their show, from the best U Rock the Holidays submissions. Rule the Mix is a new weekly show on Disney.com that celebrates entertaining and hilarious videos made by Disney.com guests.

Disney.com Offers ‘Disney Friends for Change Games’ Exclusive Content

To support the “Disney Friends for Change Games” on Disney Channel and Disney XD, Disney.com has launched an online destination at Disney.com/ProjectGreen, where kids and families can take part in the Games from home and help the planet — by making personal pledges of their own, playing online versions of the Games, and making art that matters! When kids play online versions of the Games at Disney.com/ProjectGreen, they can donate the points they earn to one of the four charities involved. At the end of the Games, the charity with the most points given by the Disney.com online community will receive $100K.

In addition to playing online games for charity, kids can view exclusive video content and participate in a number of fun online activities. Kids can create online art on the Friends for Change Group Wall at Disney.com/Create, where they can see the transformative power of friends everywhere pitching in to make a difference. The Disney.com/ProjectGreen site will also feature exclusive videos from the “Disney Friends for Change Games,” including a special wrap-up show hosted by Tiffany Thornton and Jason Earles. Kids can also download the official 2011 Friends for Change anthem “We Can Change the World” featuring Bridgit Mendler on Disney.com/Project Green.

Over 30 Disney Channel and Disney XD stars from around the globe will compete in “Disney Friends for Change Games.” Four teams will play on behalf of a global charity — Fauna and Flora International, World Wildlife Fund, Ocean Conservancy and UNICEF. For five weeks beginning Friday, June 24, Disney Channel will present “Disney Friends for Change Games” in interstitials during its Friday, Saturday and Sunday primetime original series programming, and Disney XD will present a special episode from the games Monday nights beginning June 27 (9:30 p.m., ET/PT). The Games will culminate with a special half-hour episode Sunday, July 31 on Disney Channel.

Disney.com Celebrates 2010 ‘Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade’ with Exclusive Content

The countdown to the 2010 “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” on ABC-TV has begun!   Disney Online launched today a dedicated online destination on Disney.com for the annual holiday special, featuring behind-the-scenes and performance videos of Selena Gomez and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, as well as interviews with Debby Ryan, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and Ryan Seacrest.  The site also includes television tune-in information, the parade telecast schedule, a Disney-themed holiday gift guide and great ideas for holiday recipes and crafts the whole family can enjoy.

Disney.com Enters the Grid with New Features Inspired by ‘TRON: Legacy’

The infamous TRON light cycle literally breaks through Disney.com’s homepage today, in awe-inspiring fashion, revealing all new exclusive videos, games, downloads and more. To prepare for the highly anticipated film, fans can go to Disney.com’s TRON: Legacy website to get the inside scoop on all things TRON with exclusive videos featuring Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund. And with the new TRON: Legacy Digital Painter on Disney.com’s Create, fans can create their own digital universe, complete with their favorite light cycle.

Disney Interactive Releases Free Disney.com App for the iPhone

Disney.com app for the iPhoneDisney.com today announced it has launched an app for iPhone and iPod touch on the App Store. The Disney App features an array of high quality Disney content including areas dedicated to Characters, Music, Video and Games.   Content in the app will be updated regularly, providing kids and families with instant access to the latest Disney news and entertainment.

The new Disney App will also offer innovative features including “Click2Life” which allows iPhone users to take pictures of images from the online version of Disney.com with their device that will then come to life within the app and turn into a 3D image.  Additionally, the Disney App will automatically discover other Disney apps and games available through the App Store, organizing all Disney-branded content within one destination on each device so users can easily access their favorite games and entertainment content.
