Disney Store today announced the launch of its new fragrance collection, a captivating array of scents and associated products, each inspired by some of Disney’s most timeless and beloved characters and stories. The premium personal fragrances, home scents, candles and unique gifts were created in conjunction with some of the world’s leading fragrance houses, perfumers and an award-winning design team.
“The power of fragrance is truly magical–it can evoke memories and convey dreams and aspirations. Disney’s rich heritage and most beloved characters also have that same allure”, says Jim Fielding, President of Disney Stores Worldwide. “With the launch of Disney Store’s own fragrance collection, we’re touching all of the senses for the first time in a uniquely Disney way.”
Last month, we told you about a new line of vinyl collectible dolls being produced exclusively for Disney Store by Funko. The line, whose first series consists of a unique take on twelve classic Disney and Disney/Pixar toons, sees its official release tomorrow, May 30, both at Disney Store locations and DisneyStore.com.
He almost (?) wasn’t kidding, when one follower on Twitter proclaimed me virtually homeless when I first announced the full closure of the Disney Store in New York City’s Times Square in the wake of a remodel just six months after the store first opened. So naturally when I was offered the opportunity to peek inside the store a day before it’s set to re-open to the public, I leaped at the chance.
One of a handful of media invited to tour the new changes, not only did I get a first hand look at what’s new at the store, but also received a preview of exciting new lines of merchandise and Disney Store-sponsored events to come.
Just six months after its triumphant return to Manhattan, the two-floor Disney Store Times Square located at 1540 Broadway, the largest in North America, will be fully closing its doors beginning on May 16, as confirmed by @DisneyStore.
While the second floor has followed the store’s new ‘Imagination Park’ concept model, the lower floor was more loosely themed and focused primarily on New York City exclusive items along with Disney Theatrical, Vinylmation, Disney Couture and Bloc28, along with some standard Disney Store merchandise. Within the past couple of weeks, these items have been moved to the upper floor while the first floor undergoes a complete renovation.
Considered some of the most benevolent persons on this great planet, as well as being modest to levels extreme, we concede that the only forgivable reason for chopping a princess in half is to count her rings and determine her true age. That said, we couldn’t help but notice that on May 10, Disney Consumer Products is giving away a Snow White figure by Kidada (a.k.a. the Wish A Littles) and that her body is trimmer than usual as she is pictured.
