Disney XD has provided us with a couple of clips from its upcoming episode of Phineas and Ferb, ‘Nerds of a Feather Parts I & II,’ which is set to premiere August 16 on the network.
Disney XD has ordered a third season of the hit comedy series “Zeke and Luther.” The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, Entertainment, and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. New episodes of the buddy comedy about two best friends determined to achieve epic skateboarding status will begin production fall 2010 in and around southern California. Starring are popular teen actors Hutch Dano, Adam Hicks, Ryan Newman and Daniel Curtis Lee.
In making the announcement, Marsh said: “We have great comedic talent on camera and behind the scenes, and we join its growing fan base in looking forward to a third season of the unique and relatable storytelling that has made ‘Zeke and Luther’ so popular, especially among boys.”
Phineas and Ferb creators and cast members Dan Povenmire (Doofenshmirtz) and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh (Major Monogram) were joined by fellow cast members Mitchel Musso (Jeremy, others), Vincent Martella (Phineas), Caroline Rhea (Mom) and Kelly Hu (Stacy) at San Diego Comic-con for a packed-room panel to discuss the popular Disney XD show and give a sneak peek into what we can expect to see in the future.
Disney XD has just released these stills featuring guest star and American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken from the upcoming ‘Phineas and Ferb’ one-hour special ‘Summer Belongs to You’ which premieres on Disney XD on August 2 at 8:00 pm ET/PT and on August 6 on Disney Channel.
As the story goes, it’s the summer solstice and because it’s the longest day of the year, stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb decide to travel around the world in one day. But not everyone believes they can actually achieve what they’ve set out to do, leading them to get some encouraging words, in the form of a duet, from Clay Aiken and Chaka Khan. The Disney/ABC Television Group (DATG) captured 69 Primetime Emmy nominations, it was announced today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This total reflects nominations for ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC.com and Disney Channel programming.
The ABC Television Network received 63 nominations, including a first-time, first season Comedy Series nomination for “Modern Family,” which gathered a total of 14 nominations, including recognitions for Art Direction, Casting, Directing, Picture Editing, Guest Actor, Sound Mixing and Writing.
“Modern Family’s” Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Sofia Vergara all garnered nominations in the Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series category.
The stars of Disney XD’s hit comedy series “Zeke and Luther” — Hutch Dano (Zeke), Adam Hicks (Luther) and Daniel Curtis Lee (Kojo) — will greet fans at multiple AT&T retails stores across the U.S. beginning SATURDAY, JUNE 26. Rita Ferro, an executive with a strong track record in advertising sales and promotions, has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Disney Media Sales and Marketing, effective June 28. Ms. Ferro will relocate to New York from Miami, where she’s been an integral part of Disney and ESPN’s Latin America business since 1997. She succeeds Tricia Wilber who was recently named Chief Marketing Officer, The Walt Disney Company, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In her new role, Ferro will lead the integrated sales team that represents and maximizes advertising sales, marketing and promotions across The Walt Disney Company’s media platforms serving kids, moms and families, including its kid-driven, family inclusive TV channels, its wide-range of online offerings, its mom-focused publishing business, and its kid- and mom-focused radio platform. The portfolio, consists of Disney Channel, Disney XD, Playhouse Disney (soon to re-brand to Disney Junior), plus over 20 Disney Online properties serving kids, families and/or women including Disney.com, DisneyFamily.com, DisneyChannel.com, RadioDisney.com, Kaboose.com and FamilyFun.com, among others.
Ferro will report to three business unit leaders – Carolina Lightcap, president, Disney Channels Worldwide; Paul Yanover, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Disney Online, and Russell Hampton, president, Disney Publishing Worldwide.
