‘Lab Rats’ to Premiere on Disney XD on February 27

Powered by its biggest yearly ratings ever, Disney XD will premiere more original content with “Lab Rats,” a comedy series about a teenager and his newfound “siblings,” a trio of super-human teens, who together must navigate typical high school and — not so typical — bionic glitches. The series will join Disney XD’s popular “Monday Mayhem” comedy block — led by the channel’s #1 series “Kickin’ It” — with a special one-hour episode on Monday, February 27 at 8:30 pm ET/PT hosted by the cast.

There he discovers a secret underground lab with three experiments, super-human teens: Adam the strong one, Bree the fast one and Chase the smart one. The trio, eager to leave their confines, convinces Leo and his parents to let them join him at school where they try to fit in while trying to manage their unpredictable bionic strengths. Along the way, they help Leo build self confidence while he figures out a way to keep their bionic abilities a secret from the world.

Starring are Billy Unger (“You Again”) as Chase, Spencer Boldman (“I’m in the Band”) as Adam, Kelli Berglund (“Hip Hop Harry”) as Bree, with Tyrel Jackson Williams (“Failure to Launch,” “Pair of Kings”) as Leo and Hal Sparks (E!’s “Talk Soup”) as Davenport. Sneak Peek: ‘TRON: Uprising’ Series Coming to Disney XD, 2012

TRON: UprisingDisney XD has released the video montage previewed for attendees at its San Diego Comic-Con panel. The video features quite a bit of concept art, models, test animation and what appears to be actual animation from the upcoming midquel, which takes place between TRON and TRON: Legacy.

Set to debut in summer 2012, the series centers around Beck, a young program who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution inside the computer world of The Grid. His mission is to free his home and friends from the reign of the villainous Clu 2 and his henchman General Tesler. Beck will be trained by Tron – the greatest warrior the Grid has ever known. Tron will not only teach Beck the fighting skills he needs to challenge this brutal military occupation, but will be a guide and mentor to him as he grows beyond his youthful, impulsive nature into a courageous, powerful leader. Destined to become the new protector of the system, Beck adopts Tron’s persona and becomes the archenemy of Tesler and his oppressive forces.

According to multiple reports, it was mentioned that the series itself with be preceded by a series of 10 shorts, each 3 minutes in length. No mention of the Disney Channel Original Movie that we are anticipating was mentioned, but it could be that there either is no movie to speak of, or there is even more information on TRON: Uprising waiting to be officially released, which one could reasonably expect to occur during Disney’s own D23 Expo, taking place August 19-21 in Anaheim, CA.

Voice talents attached to the series include Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Lance Henriksen and Bruce Boxleitner as TRON. The series is anticipated to air on Disney XD beginning summer 2012.
