Last night, Walt Disney Records and VEVO released the full track for the Armin van Buuren remix of ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s Frozen. The track is one of 14 that will appear on Dconstructed (available April 22, now available for pre-order).
With what is undoubtedly an unprecedented move, Walt Disney Records is further capitalizing on the success of Disney Animation’s Frozen and its ‘Let It Go’ theme by releasing a ‘three disc set’ featuring fifty tracks consisting of official, international versions of the song, often in both film and end title formats, titled Let It Go: The Complete Set.
No official announcement from Walt Disney Records has been made yet, but he album showed up on Amazon last night as an MP3 album with a release date of April 15, 2014.
In honor of today’s Blu-ray release of Frozen (with a still unconfirmed release of the 3D Blu-ray in October), Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Disney Movies Anywhere released this featurette focusing on co-directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, producer Peter Del Vecho, art director Michael Giaimo and others as they explore the Frozen suite at the Hotel de Glace in Quebec City, Canada. Long before the creation of the suite, however, the hotel itself was crucial to the animation process for Frozen as it served as reference material for the way light was reflected against the ice creations.
As part of its annual tribute to Oscar winners (and sometimes nominees), Mondo has announced it will be releasing its poster for Frozen by artist Tom Whalen at a random time tomorrow, March 18, 2014 (usually between 10 am – 12 pm ET, but never guaranteed). Those interested in attempting to grab a copy are advised to follow @MondoNews on Twitter for the on-sale announcement.
Known to sell out in mere seconds, the Mondo poster series entry for Frozen is limited to an edition size of just 440 pieces. It measures 24″ x 36″ and will retail for $50. For those that miss the opportunity tomorrow, there are no guarantees, but Whalen sometimes sells artist proof variants at his online store at a later date.
Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s confirmation of nothing to announce for the 3D Blu-ray edition of Disney’s Frozen has made fans feel as though they were left out in the cold, with many resorting to order the 3D edition from overseas, amidst fears of ‘double-dipping.’ Although there has been no official announcement, marketing materials obtained by Stitch Kingdom have indeed confirmed plans for an October 2014 release of the 3D Blu-ray/DVD release of Frozen.
Earlier this evening, during the live telecast of the 86th Annual Academy Awards presentation, Broadway diva and Tony Award winner Idina Menzel took to the Dolby Theatre stage to perform the Oscar-winning song ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s Frozen. Eleven weeks after its release, the Frozen soundtrack has certified Platinum, selling over 1,000,000 copies, and has spent four non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Industry sources are forecasting the album’s return to the top position on Wednesday. The last soundtrack to spend 5 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart was 1998’s “Titantic.” The Oscar-nominated song “Let It Go,” performed by Idina Menzel, also certified Platinum with sales over 1.2M. Menzel, who provides the voice of Elsa in the film, will perform the song at the Oscars (March 2).

In order to commemorate the wild success of the original motion picture soundtrack to Disney’s Frozen, Walt Disney Studios has announced a collector’s deluxe edition on a 3-disc vinyl set. The set consists of three 12-inch color vinyl LPs packaged in a stunning double-gatefold, foil, embossed jacket with a full-color booklet containing the lyrics and gallery quality images from the film. Each set is hand-numbered and will be one of just 3000 copies being produced. It is currently available for pre-order with an expected delivery date in April 2014.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared a new clip from one of the bonus features for the home video release of Frozen (available for (pre-order) titled ‘D’frosted: Disney’s Journey From Hans Christian Andersen to Frozen.‘ The clip features directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee alongside Disney Legend, Imagineer Alice Davis as they pore over some of the original illustrations created by her late husband and also-Disney Legend, Marc Davis.
