Dooney & Bourke to Launch Exclusive Disneyland ‘55 Collection at Disneyland Resort July 17

On the 55th Anniversary of the Disneyland Resort, Ian Ray of Dooney & Bourke will be on hand to celebrate the release of an exclusive Disneyland-inspired handbag collection.

The bags’ design features iconic Disney and Disneyland elements such as Mickey Mouse through the years, Mickey Mouse Club member IDs, Ears and more. Although the event will take place at Downtown Disney’s Vault 28 from 2 pm – 4 pm PT, the bags will be available for purchase at the store at opening. A special gift with purchases over $150 will be offered and distributed at the time of the event.

The special 55th Anniversary Dooney & Bourke collection consists of: Large Wristlet ($70), Letter Carrier ($155), Checkbook Wallet ($175), Small Messenger ($255), Medium Tote ($270)

Vinylmation: Release Dates Set for Urban #4 and ‘Have a Laugh’ at Walt Disney World

We have previously advised that both the Urban #4 and Have a Laugh Vinylmation series will be released at the Disneyland Resort on July 2.

We can now confirm that both series will become available at D-Street at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Downtown Disney West Side exactly one week later on July 9.

Both series have already been on sale at the new Disney Store in Montebello, CA, the first Disney Store to sell Vinylmation figures. Although the store has also been selling the Toy Story series, no release dates for the Parks have been made available to us at this time.

Vinylmation: Release Dates for ‘Black Cauldron,’ Disneyland Anniversary Sets

3" Disneyland 55th Anniversary Vinylmation Combo SetWe have learned of two additional Vinylmation release dates.

First, the Black Cauldron 25th Anniversary set consisting of a 9″ Horned King and 3″ Gurgi by Disney Design Group artist Monty Maldovan will be released on July 2 at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts at their respective D Street shops in Downtown Disney districts.

Then on July 9, D Street at Disneyland will exclusively begin offering the Vinylmation ‘55 collection, a combo set of two 3″ mousketeer figures and a set of 9″ Bandleader Mickey and a 3″ figure, both sets of which are limited to an edition of just 555 pieces and detailed on the Disney Parks blog here.

Note that on July 9, Disneyland’s D Street opens early at 8 am PT to accommodate early sign-up for the Pin-vited Press Event.

Vinylmation: Disneyland Release Dates for ‘Have a Laugh’ and ‘Urban #4′

We have confirmation that the Have A Laugh Series and Urban Series #4 will be released at Disneyland’s D Street located in Downtown Disney on July 2.

No dates for Walt Disney World or DisneyStore.com have been released as of yet, nor has there been a date mentioned for the Toy Story series which made its Disney Store debut at the Montebello ‘Imagination Park’ store earlier this week.

Allstar Weekend to Perform at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney June 22

Allstar WeekendDisney recording artist and winner of Radio Disney’s Next Best Thing, Allstar Weekend will be on-hand to perform live at Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort in front of  Studio Disney 365 on Tuesday, June 22. The band will perform a free mini-concert beginning at 1 PM PT which will be followed by an autograph session from 1:45 PM – 3:45 PM in honor of the band’s new album, Suddenly.

Those wishing to get an opportunity to have a copy of the new CD signed must obtain a wristband which will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis at Studio Disney 365’s opening. CDs can be purchased at the shop with a limit of 2 items being signed per guest. No personal items from home may be brought to be signed.

Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotels are giving vacationers another reason to enjoy Summer Nightastic! at the Walt Disney World Resort with special discounts up to 25 percent off regular rates good from now through August 14, 2010 or later.

Summer nights at Walt Disney World Resort enchant theme park guests when the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot present special events designed to add summertime energy to the after-dark theme-park experience. Summer Nightastic! — which runs from June 6, 2010 through August 14, 2010 — lights up the entertainment experience at the Vacation Kingdom with the return of the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade, a fireworks extravaganza, a rockin? dance party, concerts and more.

Urban Pop Culture Meets Disney Product at D Street Now Open at Downtown Disney West Side

D Street at Downtown Disney West Side © DisneyA new store has joined the unique collection of shopping and dining experiences in the Downtown Disney area with the opening of D Street, where urban-inspired product “intersects” with a Disney creative edge.

D Street is located in Downtown Disney West Side and showcases a mix of products for both men and women.  Items include cutting-edge apparel, pop culture novelties and Vinylmation™ collectibles.  The store offers an unfinished “industrial look” with fun, oversized props adorning the venue.

Product lines feature vintage looks from Disney and urban influences.  Vintage apparel includes artwork from classic Disney attractions and characters.  D Street also provides a great venue to showcase Disney art created by local artists.

This new urban-style location is the flagship store for Vinylmation serving as the place for launching the latest releases and trading of this new Disney collectible. Designed by artists from Disney Design Group, Vinylmation gives a whole new meaning to creative expression. Disney artists use a blank three-dimensional canvas bringing to life classic characters, attractions or icons inspired by Disney Parks & Resorts from around the world.  They also showcase their own artistic styles with edgy and graphic-focused looks. These collectible figures come in a variety of sizes including 1.5- or 3-inch limited-release mystery or open edition boxes, to 9-inch limited-edition figures.
