‘Mystery Girls,’ ‘Young & Hungry’ Comedy Series Announced for ABC Family in 2014

ABC Family announced today the pick-up of two half-hour comedy series ‘Mystery Girls,’ starring and executive produced by Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth, and ‘Young & Hungry,’ starring Emily Osment, from executive producer Ashley Tisdale. Production will commence on both series in Los Angeles in early 2014, and both will premiere in 2014.

ABC Family President, Tom Ascheim said, ‘It’s great to start the new year and my tenure at ABC Family with the pickup of these two funny original series. ABC Family’s comedy lineup continues to resonate with our audience and I’m thrilled to boost that momentum by adding “Mystery Girls” and “Young & Hungry,” which are sure to become fan favorites.’

Jon Cryer Guest Stars on ‘Hannah Montana’ Feb 21; Lilly Moves in with Miley

When Lilly’s mom accepts a job in Atlanta, Robby invites Lilly to move into the Stewart home in “The Wheel Near My Bed (Keeps on Turnin’).” But after Lilly overhears Miley complaining about their new living arrangement, she picks up and moves into her dad Kenneth’s (Jon Cryer) cramped apartment, only to find his antics even more harebrained than Miley’s.

The new episode premieres Sunday, February 21 (8:00-8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Disney Channel Stars Respond to Haiti Disaster in New ‘Express Yourself’ Interstitial

A new segment of Disney Channel’s “Express Yourself” short form series, one coinciding with kids, families and educators’ discussions surrounding the Haiti earthquake, will premiere TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2 on Disney Channel and Disney XD channels around the world, on Disney.com (including Disney Channel.com and DisneyXD.com) and on You Tube.

The 60-second interstitial, featuring the message, “Join the world as we shine a light on Haiti,” has themes of connection, empowerment, compassion, outreach and being a part of a global community. It features popular Disney Channel stars Selena Gomez (“Wizards of Waverly Place”), Emily Osment, Jason Earles (both of “Hannah Montana”), Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Brenda Song and Doc Shaw (all of “The Suite Life on Deck”) encouraging kids to explore and communicate their feelings and to get inspired to make a difference.

Despite accidentally eating some chicken feed that flew into her mouth while filming a scene, Miley found a new BFF in her fine feathered co-stars, even wanting to take one home with her. Miley said, ‘Other stars walk around Hollywood with little dogs under their arms, but I want to walk around with my little chicken!’ For the record, Miley also confessed that chicken feed tastes disgusting, so please don’t try it at home.
