Destructoid has reported that one of its readers had been offered an online survey which discusses a sequel for Epic Mickey, tentatively titled Epic Mickey 2. Amongst potential box artwork, possible subtitles such as Epic Mickey 2: Return of the Mad Doctor, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two, Epic Mickey 2: Mystery on Mean Street were offered up. The gist of the game appears to be co-op play between Mickey Mouse and half-brother Oswald, presumably picking up where the first game ended.

Guests of the D23 Expo will be able to suit up, power up and team up as they enter Disney Universe, a multiplayer action-adventure video game set in a mix-up of Disney and Disney/Pixar inspired worlds that will be released this fall.

Given that it’s one of the top five best selling titles for the Nintendo Wii, chances are that you already own a copy of Epic Mickey from Junction Point Studios and Disney Interactive.
If you don’t, however, or if you know someone who doesn’t have it but should, today would be a good day to consider it as Amazon.com is listing it as a gold box deal, offering it for just $29.99 for today only, which represents a savings of 40% off the full retail cost of the game.
Disney’s ‘Epic Mickey’ Soundtrack Now Available for Purchase via iTunes
It took a few more months than we initially anticipated when we first talked about it back in August, but the original game score to Epic Mickey by Emmy Award-winning composer Jim Dooley hit the virtual shelves of iTunes yesterday. Twenty tracks in all are included in the soundtrack which can be purchased online now for $9.99 for the complete album or $.99 per individual track.

In celebration of the launch of Epic Mickey from Disney Interactive Studios and Junction Point Studios today, the newly opened Disney Store Times Square played host to an event of epic proportions. At the center of it all was gaming veteran and Junction Point creative director, visionary Warren Spector. Spector was joined by the rest of the development team as they realized the fruits of their labor for the past three years in Epic Mickey.

In the latest featurette from Disney Interactive Studios and Junction Point Studios for Disney’s Epic Mickey (Available November 30, exclusively on Nintendo Wii), Warren Spector and the Junction Point animators and game developers talk about translating eight decades of history into the video game. Filled with images taken directly from the Walt Disney Studios Archives, Spector notes that virtually everything in the game is inspired directly by a real, tangible Disney production.

Disney Star Kyle Massey, Warren Spector to Launch ‘Epic Mickey’ at Disney Store Times Square Early Morning Event
Disney Interactive Studios today announced that Kyle Massey will be trading in his dancing shoes for a digital paint brush when the highly anticipated Disney Epic Mickey launches on November 30th for Wii. Massey will serve as the special celebrity cashier at the festivities taking place at the new Disney Store in Times Square.
“Kyle exemplifies the youth of the world that have grown up with Disney. He’s the perfect addition to this event that will allow adults and kids to experience the joy of Disney Epic Mickey together.”
Video: David Garibaldi Paints Epic Mural for Disney’s ‘Epic Mickey’
‘Rhythm and hues’ and Disney Fine Art artist David Garibaldi recently painted a large mural on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles in honor of Disney’s Epic Mickey which will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Wii on November 30. It took Garibaldi about 5 1/2 hours to paint the mural which includes a scene of Mickey Mouse approaching Dark Beauty Castle, the Phantom Blot taking on Mickey and the many spirited faces of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.

Disney’s ‘Epic Mickey’ to be Featured at Nintendo Holiday Events Nationwide
From November 22 through December 19, Nintendo of America will be hosting a ‘Holiday Mall Experience’ at 23 shopping malls nationwide to promote new and upcoming titles for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DSi including Epic Mickey from Disney Interactive Studios and Junction Point Studios, offering many to get a hands-on first look at the game more than a week before its official release on November 30.

Disney’s ‘Epic Mickey’ Featurette: ‘Disneyland-scape: Theme Park Inspirations’
Disney Interactive Studios and Junction Point Studios have released an all new featurette that focuses on the inspiration of the Wasteland in Epic Mickey – the long forgotten and discarded elements of the Disneyland theme park (with possibly a little Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World thrown in, but mostly Disneyland).
Junction Point’s Warren Spector and the game’s developers talk about the parallels between Oswald’s world and the real Disneyland, from the Mean Street to Ventureland to Lonesome Manor to Gremlin Village and more — you’ll even catch a glimpse of Space Mountain as it appears in the game. Spector talks about how the real attractions were translated into the game version and how he felt compelled to turn the iconic Mary Blair ‘it’s a small world’ facade at Disneyland into the game’s first boss.
