Although billed as a global event, eyes, ears and wallets will be focusing on New York City tomorrow evening as Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company and the City of New York team up for a third year to ‘celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry’s economy, and put the fun back in shopping’ and here’s just a few spots you can experience a dose of your Disney favorites throughout the night.
The spirit of Halloween Time will invade Disneyland Resort this fall with Disney villains, Mickey Mouse and his friends in Halloween costumes, along with the seasonal transformations of Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain into Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort begins Friday, Sept. 16, and will continue through Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31.
The after-hours Mickey’s Halloween Party, a separate-ticket event* which has become an annual highlight of Halloween Time for trick-or-treating families, will take place in Disneyland park on 10 special Monday, Tuesday and Friday nights: Sept. 30 and Oct. 3, 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 and 31. To give viewers an up close and personal look at the stylish and timeless fashions worn by stewardesses in the 1960s, ABC’s “Pan Am” will showcase items from the iconic ladies’ uniform, ranging from head to toe. Beginning September 2, bus shelters in the West Hollywood area in Los Angeles and in front of Grand Central in New York City — among other locations – will be transformed into eye catching museum-displays exhibiting the custom-tailored jacket that gave the stewardesses a streamlined, sexy look, the perfectly-fitted white gloves that left no room for a wedding ring, the black leather, low-heeled pumps that provided comfort without compromising style, and the “Pan Am” blue leather flight bag, which was the perfect bag to carry belongings for a night out on any town they might have just flown into. Topping off this iconic uniform is the always-in-place classic hat. The displays will promote ABC’s “Pan Am,” one of the highly anticipated new dramas of the fall season.
City dwellers trekking to the Hamptons this Labor Day Weekend will be able to soak up more than just some sun. From September 1-3, ABC’s “Revenge” descends upon the streets of New York, offering passengers waiting to board Hampton Jitney buses a printed script of the first episode. This thrilling beach read will be coupled with a “Revenge” beach towel to complement the perfect Hampton getaway. “Revenge” premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 10:00 pm ET on the ABC Television Network.

Radio Disney kicks off its first-ever “N.B.T.” (“Next BIG Thing”) concert tour on Monday, September 5 in Chicago. Sponsored by Invisalign Teen, the eight-city tour will feature the season four “N.B.T” artists and “N.B.T.” alumni. Tour stops in New York City, Boston, St. Louis, Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and concludes in Celebration, Florida on Saturday, December 10. Tour venues will be a mix of local festivals, fairs and shopping centers.
On Thursday, September 1, Invisalign Teen will launch the “Straight Up Celebration” Sweepstakes. The grand prize is a trip for four to the Radio Disney Holiday Concert in Celebration, Florida to see “N.B.T.” alumni Coco Jones and Kicking Daisies. Three runner-ups will receive prize packages including an iPad, an iPod touch or iTunes gift cards.
As Rapunzel is welcomed into the Disney Princess royal court on October 2 at Kensington Palace in London, England, Disney Princess fans can feel a part of the special occasion by participating in an online video contest on Disney.com. Whether it’s the kindness shown by Cinderella, determination of Tiana, or adventurous nature of Rapunzel, girls connect with Disney Princess characters in different ways to bring their own stories to life. With the “Your Princess Moment – The Story Begins With You” video upload contest, fans age 12 and under can submit a 45-second video singing part of one of four songs from the upcoming Disney Princess Fairy Tale Songscompilation album – available September 20 from Walt Disney Records. Alternatively, fans can submit a video recreating a favorite Disney Princess scene, dressing up or performing a dance.
ABC is bringing an in-flight experience without having to leave the ground to New York’s Fashion Week attendees, September 8 -14. “Pan Am”-inspired stewardesses will be stationed at coffee carts offering up coffee and tea each morning to local New Yorkers and attendees of some of the biggest fashion shows in New York City.
In addition to providing beverages, stewardesses will also be handing out the must-have bags of the season – the highly coveted “Pan Am” Explorer bag, as well as “Pan Am” track bags — that people have been buzzing about since their debut at San Diego’s Comic-Con.
Tween girls won’t want to miss the fashion event of the year — the Disney Fashion Show at D23 Expo, the ultimate Disney fan event, featuring new back-to-school and fall fashions plus holiday looks, and a sneak preview of spring 2012 styles. Celebrity guests from Disney Channel’s hit buddy comedy series Shake It Up will make a special appearance including Bella Thorne (CeCe); Zendaya (Rocky); Adam Irigoyen (Deuce Martinez); Davis Cleveland (Flynn); Kenton Duty (Gunther); Roshon Fegan (Ty); Caroline Sunshine (Tinka) and R. Brandon Johnson (Gary Wilde). The “topping out” is a special moment that typically occurs in the construction and engineering industry when the highest piece of structure, either steel or concrete, is placed on the building’s frame. The tradition dates back to the Vikings, who would place an evergreen tree on the top of a building to celebrate and bring good luck.
At the construction site for Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, a crane helped lift the traditional evergreen to the roof of a building that will soon be part of the Lion King wing of the resort hotel.
