Walt Disney World has released additional details for what they are calling ‘Car Masters Weekend’ at Downtown Disney West Side at the Walt Disney World Resort from May 13-15, 2011 as part of the Disney/Pixar Weekend. The event, which we first announced in early April coincides with the Walt Disney World stop of the State Farm ‘Agents on a Mission’ Tour.
Disney Vacation Club will soon be offering an online video-on-demand titled ‘Disney Traveler presents Behind the Magic in Hawaii with Samantha Brown,’ previewing the new Aulani Resort which will first welcome its members this summer.
According to the site, viewers will be invited to ‘join TV travel guru Samantha Brown on location to get a sneak peek of the unexpected wonders Disney is creating for the entire family at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawai’i. Plus, learn about exclusive Disney Vacation Club® offers only available through this webcast.’
Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks, Hayley Kiyoko, Blake Michael, Nick Roux and Chris Brochu will first participate in a Q&A session with Radio Disney deejay Ernie D before offering a Lemonade Mouth CD signing for 200 fans.
To get a CD signed, guests much purchase a Lemonade Mouth CD at Studio Disney 365 beginning Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10AM, while supplies last (limit one per person). At the time of purchase, guests will receive a sales receipt as well as a voucher for the May 2 event.
Continuing our unparalleled coverage of the special Disney/Pixar Weekend taking place at Walt Disney World, May 13-15, we have learned that reserved seating at the special ‘Presenting Pixar’ talks featuring Cars property guardian Jay Ward, Pixar producer Jonas Rivera and composer Michael Giacchino, will be made available as seating is extremely limited at these events (approximately 800 guests per show according to our sources).

Disney D23, the official Disney Fan Club, has formally announced a 20th Anniversary Event in honor of Disney’s The Rocketeer. The event, which will be held on June 21, 2011 at the El Captain Theatre in Hollywood, will be hosted by Kevin Smith and will feature a reunion panel of stars from the film as well as a screening of the movie.
It seems like forever ago that we first met Finn McMissile and were the first to announce the national State Farm-sponsored ‘Agents on a Mission‘ tour of life-size remote controlled versions of Finn, Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater in honor of the June 24th release of Disney/Pixar’s Cars 2. Fortunately for us, the waiting and heavy anticipation paid off in spades as the trio made their way to New York City just in time for the 2011 New York International Auto Show and were none worse for the wear.
Today, in a ceremony on the lagoon fronting the site of Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawai’i, local crew members from Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc., joined with Disney cast members (employees) to celebrate the completion of major structural work on the Disney resort and the beginning of Disney’s “time to add the magic.”
Via the official Disney Parks blog, Walt Disney World has confirmed Stitch Kingdom’s original report on the gala celebration in honor of Pixar’s 25th Anniversary and the release of Cars 2 during the final weekend of Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival.
The official announcement does make note of a few differences, however, namely that many character greetings will take place inside the World Showplace and around the World Showcase, but not in the Future World area.
The Disney Gallery, located at the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, California, has announced that beginning May 13, it will the art of famed Walt Disney Imagineer, Mary Blair. Blair is best known for her designs that inspired the ‘it’s a small world’ attraction which is celebrating its 45th year inside the Disneyland park in 2011.
The art represents a collection that has been never before been displayed in public, instead remaining inside the Walt Disney Studios Archive, until now. In addition to the art that inspired the globally loved attraction, the exhibit will feature Blair’s work on Disney animated films such as Cinderella, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland as well as Disney Parks contributions such as the tile murals for Tomorrowland, ‘ Adventure Through Innerspace,’ Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World Resort and the never-realized Western River Ride.
Truthfully, we don’t really have any of the details of the new athletic event currently being teased by runDisney on its Facebook page but we can confirm that on Tuesday, April 19 at approximately 10 am ET (7 am PT), Disney will announce the inaugural ‘Tinker Bell Half Marathon’ at the Disneyland Resort.
The runDisney ‘Tinker Bell Half Marathon’ will provide ‘women and girls an opportunity to celebrate health, fitness, active lifestyles’ and will take place at the Disneyland Resort from January 27-29.
