The official Disney Parks blog recently offered up details on New Year’s Eve events taking place around Walt Disney World this year, but it turns out there is one (incredibly) late entry this year that didn’t make the list: DisneyQuest. Seemingly a last minute entry, the resort recently registered domain names for websites that still don’t go anywhere including DisneyQuestNewYearsEve.com and DisneyQuestNYE.com.
The countdown to the 2010 “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” on ABC-TV has begun! Disney Online launched today a dedicated online destination on Disney.com for the annual holiday special, featuring behind-the-scenes and performance videos of Selena Gomez and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, as well as interviews with Debby Ryan, Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon and Ryan Seacrest. The musical legacy of The Walt Disney Studios will be celebrated at the 2011 edition of the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood. Turner Classic Movies (TCM), in collaboration with D23, The Official Disney Fan Club, will host a multi-faceted celebration of the studio’s history of bringing music and film together. Presentations at TCM’s four-day festival in April 2011 will include a screening of the recently restored groundbreaking classic Fantasia (1940), which integrated great works of classical music with some of the most innovative animation ever put on film; a collection of Silly Symphonies animated shorts, curated and introduced by film historian Leonard Maltin; and a special tribute to Disney live-action musicals.
Early this morning, a few hundred very lucky Pirates of the Caribbean fans had the opportunity to congregate at the Disneyland Resort where they were treated to an exclusive ‘Fans First’ first look at the first trailer and sizzle reel for Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides in 3D. After checking in for the event, guests were entertained by several area pirates before heading over to the AMC theater where Pirates director Rob Marshall introduced the trailer and footage to the attending crowd.
Walt Disney Studios has provided us with these photos from yesterday’s London premiere of TRON: Legacy at Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. Gracing the carpet were the film’s stars Jeff Bridges (Kevin Flynn/Clu) and Olivia Wilde (Quorra), director Joseph Kosinski, vehicle designer Daniel Simon and film producer and Walt Disney Studios head of production, Sean Bailey. After the premiere, the cast and crew moved to Tate Modern for a TRON-themed afterparty.

The heroes of Toy Story 3 have left the toy box. Woody and Buzz Lightyear meet arch-enemy Lotso the teddy bear on the Future World playground for the 18th Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival March 2 through May 15, 2011, at Walt Disney World Resort.
The popular Disney/Pixar characters hit the sandbox as seven- and eight-foot-tall topiaries at the Epcot front entrance flower bed featuring a sand castle, strawberry-scented field and playground toys. Created by Disney gardeners and topiary experts with bold strokes of seasonal color, the topiary display marks the first time that “Toy Story” characters have been featured at the festival. It’s also the first time in seven years that the front-entrance floral spectacle showcases all-new topiary characters, says festival horticulture manager Eric Darden.
