In addition to the Annual Passholder exclusive Mr. Toad 3″ Vinylmation figure being released at the Disneyland Resort on August 27, the Toy Story collection will also be making its debut at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World at D-Street in the Downtown Disney district. The Mr. Toad 3″ vinylmation will be available to annual passholders at Walt Disney World on August 29.
An extraordinary lineup of actors, musicians, athletes and journalists have banded together for “Stand Up To Cancer” (SU2C), the groundbreaking initiative aimed at raising funds to accelerate innovative cancer research bringing new therapies to patients quickly that will saves lives now. “Stand Up To Cancer” (www.standup2cancer.org) will return to primetime TV on SEPTEMBER 10 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET). The one-hour fundraising event will be simulcast live and commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1.
Executive-produced by Laura Ziskin, the special will be hosted by Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams (the anchors, respectively, of the CBS, ABC and NBC evening news programs), and will feature numerous celebrity cancer survivors who exemplify that cancer can affect even the smartest, strongest and toughest people in our lives. Those expected to participate include Christina Applegate, Lance Armstrong, Fran Drescher, Elizabeth Edwards, Delta Goodrem, Michael C. Hall, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sharon Osbourne, Robin Roberts, Maura Tierney, Sofia Vergara, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Ethan Zohn. The broadcast will be dedicated to the 12 million U.S. cancer survivors and illustrate how groundbreaking research can change the tide in the fight against the disease. Updates will be provided on the work of the five “Stand Up To Cancer” Dream Teams, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, will report on other new medical developments. One of the musical performances will be an all-star collaboration led by Stevie Wonder with Natasha Bedingfield, Queen Latifah, Martina McBride, Aaron Neville and Dave Stewart.
The world premiere for the newest Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam was held at Lincoln Center in New York City yesterday and the film’s stars and fellow Disney Channel family members were all there in support.

A star-powered, 16-act Christian music lineup will herald the return of Night of Joy to Magic Kingdom Sept. 10-11, with 2010 “Artist of the Year” Casting Crowns plus three other “Artist of the Year” recipients topping a bill featuring seven additional acts that have won Dove Awards or Grammy Awards. Other “Artist of the Year” winners performing during the 28th edition of the Walt Disney World event are Chris Tomlin (2006 and 2007), mercyme (2004) and Third Day (2001).
Also part of the two-night event (when specific acts play one evening each): David Crowder*Band, Family Force 5, Red, BarlowGirl, Group 1 Crew, Day of Fire, Smokie Norful, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Sidewalk Prophets, Thousand Foot Krutch and Britt Nicole.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel is offering guests a chance to indulge at the first annual Food & Wine Classic at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Oct. 8 and 9.
Each evening will feature beverage seminars and a culinary festival with live music and tastings from the hotel’s award-winning restaurants and lounges.
Guests have the opportunity to choose from six hands-on beverage classes taught by certified wine sommeliers and beer and cocktail specialists from the hotel’s team. Following in the footsteps of the ‘Final Flight’ event at Disneyland, in which D23 members were invited to enter the park after hours to ride Star Tours for the final time before it closes for its refurb and transition into Star Tours 2: The Adventure Begins, D23 has announced a ‘Final Flight’ for Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World on September 7. The attraction is currently scheduled to re-open on May 17, 2011.
Guests will check in at the main entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning at 8:30 pm and will receive their commemorative boarding pass for their trip. According to the event’s page, the event will consist of just visiting the attraction.
On Saturday, September 11, join Disney Ink and Paint Artists: James Bonserio, Erin Magill, Theodora M. DeLaney, David Rippberger, Lynn Rippberger, Sharon K. Vincent as they celebrate the premiere of the Dreams Come True entry into the Ink and Paint Cel series. Celebrating the genesis of The Walt Disney Company in which Walt Disney creates Mickey Mouse on a train ride from New York to Los Angeles, the creator is pictured seated on the train while Mickey Mouse is getting ready to board. This Ink and Paint Cel also represents the first in the series in which Walt Disney is depicted.
Walt Disney Imagineer and show writer Jason Surrell offers just a tad more information than he has already shared with us for The Last Tour to Endor hard-ticketed event taking place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World on August 14.
One of the event’s festivities will be a ‘mash-up’ live-action stunt show in which Indiana Jones meets Star Wars. Walt Disney World has announced that dinner packages for its Candlelight Processional will become available August 26. The package includes dinner at one of the table service restaurants around the World Showcase, priority admission to the American Gardens Theatre where the event is held and special viewing for the holiday edition of Illuminations.
