HOLIDAY 2009 D23 CHARTER MEMBER-ONLY SPECIAL EVENTS:
The most enchanting event this holiday season just got even more magical. Not only do moviegoers have an opportunity to see Disney’s The Princess and the Frog in New York City and the Los Angeles area before the rest of the country as well as live out the Ultimate Disney Experience as we mentioned here, but now those planning on taking advantage of this special event can buy tickets online for a 30% discount.
General admission tickets which are normally $30 can be purchased exclusively at Facebook page for The Princess and the Frog for just $21 each for both the movie before its theatrical release in a unique environment along with the Ultimate Disney Experience.
Now located inside the Main Street Bank, the Disney Gallery is set to re-open on October 2 at Disneyland. Read a bit more about the exciting new location here.
In support for the release of the sixth installment of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy, author Eoin Colfer (most widely known for his Artemis Fowl series) will be embarking on a tour of appearances and book signings.
For the full list of appearances as well as information on how to pre-order your own personalized (and non-personalized) copy of And Another Thing…, see here.
An Englishman’s continuing search through space and time for a decent cup of tea…
Arthur Dent’s accidental association with that wholly remarkable book, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, has not been entirely without incident.
To commemorate his return to Earth after record-breaking service in space, the Magic Kingdom will hold a ticker-tape parade for Buzz Lightyear on October 2 at 2:45 pm, just prior to the afternoon parade. Accompanying Mr. Lightyear will be his namesake, NASA legend and visionary Dr. Buzz Aldrin, as well as other astronauts that served with Lightyear on his mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
Journey, if you will, to the Tower of Terror gift shop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on October 2 from 1 pm – 2 pm and 5 pm – 6 pm where you will cross over to another dimension to meet Douglas Brode, author of Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone.
The Twilight Zone has always been considered the greatest science fiction/imaginative fantasy series in the history of television. The series featured an intelligent subtext on the time period during which it was made. Now, with the publication of the book Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone, comes a fresh analysis of the Twilight Zone also serving as an autobiographical look into the life of its creator, Rod Serling.
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Sept. 21, 2009) – A sold-out field for Disney’s Expedition Everest Challenge presented by Champion will be tested like never before by several new twists and turns Sept. 26 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. A series of Kids’ Races have been added to kick off the event, making it an experience the whole family can enjoy.
The first urban adventure race in Disney’s Endurance Series, Disney’s Expedition Everest Challenge is a nighttime competition that will test both the mental and physical stamina of participants. It begins with a 5K run, transitions to a fun obstacle course and finishes with a scavenger hunt, all taking place around the Expedition Everest attraction. Among the new challenges are several tricky scavenger hunt clues designed to test the mental endurance of the more than 3,500 competitors.
