On Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, D23’s Epcot 30th Anniversary Celebration will whisk D23 Members back to a time touted as when “the 21st century begins”—those early Epcot years when guests first marveled at “Astuter Computers,” “Smellitzers,” and the novelty of “riding on sunshine,” and were awed by a massive geodesic sphere called Spaceship Earth.

Video: Pixar ‘Mail A Smile’ Postage Stamps Debut at Art of Animation Resort

The Mail a Smile Forever stamps official First-Day-of-Issue dedication ceremony took place at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.

Available nationwide today, all 125 million stamps can be purchased online at usps.com/shop, by calling 1-800-STAMP-24 (1-800-782-6724) or by visiting Post Offices.

“These delightful stamps lift spirits and touch hearts and remind us that when it comes to connecting with loved ones, technology is no match for the mail,” said Jo Ann Feindt, Postal Service Southern Area vice president, in dedicating the stamps as part of the resort’s grand opening.

‘Tailor Made’ Ink and Paint Cel Release on June 23 at Walt Disney World

'Tailor Made' Ink and Paint CelOn Saturday, June 23, join Disney Ink and Paint Artists: Erin Magill, Theodora M. DeLaney, David Rippberger, Lynn Rippberger and Sharon K. Vincent as they celebrate the premiere of the Tailor Made entry into the Ink and Paint Cel series. In the cel, Donald Duck directs the cast of Mickey and Minnie at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as they recreate a scene from the 1938 animated short, Walt Disney’s Brave Little Tailor.

Disney D23 Member Archives Exhibit Preview June 30; Tix Available May 24

Disney D23, the official community of Disney fans, has released details on its members-only preview of the ‘D23 Presents Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives’ exhibit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley, CA.

The 12,000 square foot exhibit from the Walt Disney Archives is the largest display of Disney props, costumes, artifacts, and artwork ever exhibited. From Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse to Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain America, the exhibit features more than 500 artifacts, at least half of which have never before been seen by the public.

‘Once Upon a Time,’ TRON: Uprising’ Q&A/Sneak Preview on Facebook

‘Paperman’ to be Screened at LA Film Fest in June

Lasseter to Participate in CG Animation Panel Moderated by Tom Sito

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced it will be conducting a panel on computer-generated film animation ‘from Vertigo to Toy Story to the 3D spectacles of today.’ The panel, moderated by legendary animator and historian Tom Sito, is titled ‘The Development of the Digital Animator,’ and well be held Monday, May 21 at 7:30 pm PT in Beverly Hills as part of the Academy’s Marc Davis Celebration of Animation.

Disney California Adventure Preview Announced for Annual Passholders

The Disneyland Resort has announced that it will allow a select number of Annual Passholders to attend a preview at Disney California Adventure on June 11, four days before the new Buena Vista Street and Cars Land areas debut to the public on June 15, 2012.

To enter for the opportunity to be one of the lucky previewers, Annual Passes must be valid as of May 1, 2012 (it does not have to be valid at time of preview). Entries must be entered by May 24, 2012 and winners will be notified on or around June 4. Each winner may bring up to five guests to the preview (which promises nothing but long lines) and will receive a blockout pass for those it applies to as well as complimentary 1 day tickets for each of their guests.
