Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared a new clip from one of the bonus features for the home video release of Frozen (available for (pre-order) titled ‘D’frosted: Disney’s Journey From Hans Christian Andersen to Frozen.‘ The clip features directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee alongside Disney Legend, Imagineer Alice Davis as they pore over some of the original illustrations created by her late husband and also-Disney Legend, Marc Davis.
Walt Disney Studios has provided us with a new high-res stills from Maleficent (May 30, 2014), which has been added to the beginning of our gallery embedded below. The new still features an iconic moment in the film with Elle Fanning as Aurora hovering her fingertip above the spindle of a spinning wheel.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared one of the bonus features for the home video release of Frozen (available for (pre-order) titled ‘Dressing Room’ along with an introduction by directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. The clip, which is presented in animatic form using scratch voices, gives us a glimpse of what life might have been like should Elsa and Anna grown up with each other.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared one of the bonus features for the home video release of Frozen (available for (pre-order) titled ‘Meet Kristoff’ in which Anna and the ice man make acquaintances via alternate means. Also of note is that Kristoff does not appear to speak as Sven when conversing with him. It is presented here in animatic form using scratch voices as it was probably discarded earlier on in the production process.
Pictured here is the illustration used in several recently filed trademark applications filed by The Walt Disney Company. Just from the looks of it, three things are very clear: (1) it prominently features the Disney ‘D’ logo; (2) it contains a portion of what appears to be a filmstrip; and (3) the shape and outline of the illustration strongly suggests a mobile app, be it iOS, Android or both.
More importantly, the illustration accompanied several trademark applications for the following uses:
- Authentication, issuance, and validation of digital certificates and codes; Computer security services in the nature of providing an internet trust center, namely, computer security assurance and administration of digital certificates and codes
Tony Award®-winning singer, songwriter and actress Idina Menzel will, for the first time, perform the Oscar®-nominated song ‘Let it Go’ for a global television audience at the Oscars®, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. The Oscars, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air on Sunday, March 2, live on ABC.
‘Let it Go,’ written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for Frozen, is nominated for Original Song. The three other nominated songs are ‘Happy’ from Despicable Me 2, ‘Ordinary Love’ from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and ‘The Moon Song’ from Her.
On January 14, 2014, the original motion picture soundtrack to Disney’s Frozen, as well as the single ‘Let It Go,’ were recognized by the RIAA as being certified gold (selling more than 500,000 physical copies). To commemorate the event as well as the success of the film and the album in general, Disney held a private showcase event last night the Vibrato Grill Jazz Club in Los Angeles.
Walt Disney Studios and DisneyToon Studios have released a new trailer titled ‘Courage’ for their upcoming animated sequel, Planes: Fire & Rescue, which will debut in theaters on July 18, 2014, which you can find embedded below.
Tickets went on sale earlier this evening for the annual New York International Children’s Film Festival in New York City today and, continuing their gracious participation, Disney is allowing the festival to screen Muppets Most Wanted on March 15, almost a full week before it debuts in theaters. In addition to the early screening of the sequel, the festival is offering a screening of the previous 2011 film, The Muppets, but as a special sing-along edition with guest Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords, who wrote the songs for both films.
Walt Disney Animation Studios has provided us with a high resolution version of the theatrical poster for the Sing-A-Long edition of its smash success, Frozen. In addition, the ‘Let It Go’ sequence was also released today in sing-a-long mode which features the bouncing snowflake that will guide viewers along through the musical numbers. The Frozen Sing-A-Long edition will be in over 1,000 theaters nationally beginning January 31, 2014. Because the regular edition continues to sell out shows, it is highly recommended that tickets be purchased in advance.
