Though it has yet to show any sign of life beyond advertisements which began a year ago at the Disney D23 Expo and subsequent home video releases, it appears the Disney Studio All Access program is still alive and kicking behind-the-scenes only now it will be known as ‘Disney Movies Anywhere.’
Although there have been widely speculated rumors that Disney/Pixar’s Brave would be coming to 3D Blu-ray/DVD on November 6 — with no official announcement to date — the first date we have managed to find from an official source is actually one week later, November 13, 2012.
The news comes to us from DisneyStore.com which has begun listing the 2-disc ‘Collector’s Edition‘ version of the release for pre-order. While that particular release is limited to just a 2D version of the film on Blu-ray as well as DVD, Amazon.com is listing multiple versions, including the 5-disc ‘Ultimate Collector’s Edition‘ which features the 3D Blu-ray version of the film along with the 2D version, DVD and digital copy.
Walt Disney Studios has just shared its IMAX policy trailer featuring Frankenweenie which comes alive in theaters beginning October 5, 2012. Inspired by the old black and white B film trailers of yore, the etiquette trailer also introduces a bit of new footage from the film, including a very cryptic message from Weird Girl’s ‘pet,’ Mr. Whiskers.
Yesterday, I had the distinct honor of speaking with Disney (and all-around) legend Richard Sherman, half of the Sherman Brothers, one of the most beloved and prolific songwriting teams whose music has been known and loved by generations of fans from all walks of life.
The occasion for our petit chat is the upcoming re-release of The Aristocats from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on August 21, 2012. Available for the first time ever in Blu-ray high-definition format. The exciting tale takes place in the heart of Paris where a kind and eccentric millionairess, wills her entire estate to ‘Duchess,’ a high society cat, and her three kittens. When the bumbling butler Edgar tries to pull off the ultimate catnap caper in order to secure the fortune for himself, it’s up to alley cat Thomas O’Malley and his band of swingin’ jazz cats to save the day.
As the only available toy with limbs, Rex puts his tiny arms to good use by turning on the water and getting the party going for those dried-out toys on his own – which leads to a sort of bubble-filled rave, complete with glow-in-the-dark toys making disco lights under an overturned colander and dance music by Grammy-nominated electronica musician BT.
Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios have provided us new hi-res stills from their upcoming films Wreck-It Ralph (November 2, 2012) and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie (October 5, 2012).
In the new still from Wreck-It Ralph, which has been added to the beginning of our gallery of stills below, Ralph and his fellow baddies are returning from a BadAnon meeting where the mantra ‘I am bad and that’s good, I will never be good and that’s not bad’ reigns supreme but does not seem to ring true for the would-be hero who’s seen here clutching the cherries he took after entering the Pac-Man game via Game Central Station.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly a year to the day that we have been able to share images from Walt Disney Studios’ film, The Odd Life of Timothy Green. With just a couple of weeks before the film opens on August 15, however, that’s all about to change as Walt Disney Studios has provided us with eight new stills and one behind-the-scenes photo.
Most of the new images appear to reflect on the relationship between Timothy (Cameron ‘CJ’ Adams as he is now billed) and his new parents, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) as well as Timothy’s extra special bond with Joni Jerome (Odeya Rush).
Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios have provided us with these new hi-res images showing some of the development behind the three new game worlds (Fix It Felix Jr, Sugar Rush and Hero’s Duty) as well as character development, showing how Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman) have evolved during the film-making process.
The newly released images have been added to the beginning of our gallery of concept art for the film below. Click on any of the thumbnails to see a larger version, then click on the resize arrow to see the image at its original resolution.
Walt Disney Studios (NYSE:DIS) has provided us with very high resolution images of all five of the second wave of the Frankenweenie character posters that have recently debuted, along with the official descriptions of each. Unfortunately due to file size restrictions, they had to be reduced to about 8 megapixels to be able to present here, but still much higher than what we usually share.
As usual, we have added the images to the beginning of our existing gallery below. To view each of the images at their original resolution here, click their respective thumbnails below and once the larger version fills the screen, find and click the resize icon which will show the image at 100%.
