Strange Magic, a new animated film coming to DVD and Digital, is a fairy tale — but not your average fairy tale. This magical adventure features a host of colorful characters including a princess who has sworn off love, a dubious villain, a slightly nutty Sugar Plum Fairy, a tenacious elf, a mischievous imp, and a knight who is no Prince Charming. Bring home the enchanting tale the whole family can enjoy today.
Walt Disney Music and Vevo have released a lyric music video for ‘Making Today A Perfect Day’ by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Bobby Lopez from Disney’s newest animated short, Frozen Fever, which you can find embedded below. Those who purchased the physical CD of the original motion picture soundtrack to Cinderella can also download the song free of charge with the provided code.
In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.
Walt Disney Studios Spain has released its second trailer for Pixar Animation Studio’s Inside Out (June 19, 2015), which you can find embedded below. While it shares some footage in common with the recent domestic trailer(s), there’s plenty of new animation in here including Riley as an infant (in which it appears Joy and Sadness first meet), as a toddler and then growing into her 11 year old age that we see through the majority of the film. Also featured are the ‘train of thought’ and what may very well be our first official head-on glimpse of Bing Bong, who appears to be with both Joy and Sadness inside long term memory before escorting them through Imagination Land and Dream Productions, which certainly appears to fit with his rumored position in the film.
According to a source who wishes to remain anonymous, despite claiming a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) was not required on their behalf, the voice being lent to the Bing Bong character in Pixar’s upcoming film, Inside Out (June 19, 2015), belongs to none other than comedic actor Richard Kind. The information was obtained via a test screening recently held for the film. No stranger to the Pixar Animation Studios roster, Kind has previously voiced peripheral characters for A Bug’s Life, Cars and Toy Story 3. Bing Bong, believed to be the childhood imaginary friend of protagonist Riley, can actually be spotted several times in the most recent trailer for the film, both in whole and in parts — he’s the one seen leading Joy and Sadness into ‘Imagination Land’ and through ‘Dream Productions,’ as well as riding on the rocket device that expels rainbows.
Even if you aren’t a fan of Disney, there is probably little doubt you’ve heard some of the news coming out of the annual shareholder meeting that was held earlier today at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco: a Frozen 2 sequel is in the works and Star Wars: Rogue One is headed to a galaxy near you in 2016.
And then there are the parts you didn’t get to hear and see, the clips — unless, of course, you were in the at-capacity audience. Fortunately, I was one of them and I am about to detail (to the best of my memory) what I heard and saw when the live stream was blocked.
While most of the viral marketing you know that’s tied to Tomorrowland is actually the work of unofficial fanbois, Walt Disney Studios Japan has one for the books. Last night, Walt Disney Studios Japan uploaded and then immediately removed a new trailer for Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland (May 22, 2015) which features tons of new footage and hints of the plot details that noone stateside wants you to see. This is viral marketing at its best.
With what appears to be a decision reversal for Disney Music, the original song composed for Frozen Short by Oscar winning couple Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, ‘Making Today A Perfect Day’ is now available for purchase as a single from iTunes. Those who purchased the physical CD of the original motion picture soundtrack to Cinderella can also download the song free of charge with the provided code.
We sincerely apologize for earlier reports from us which explicitly suggested that this would not be the case and that the Cinderella soundtrack would be the only way to obtain the new Frozen Fever tune for the foreseeable future, but this was based on information that we were provided directly from Disney Music.
We’re still a few months away from Pixar Animation Studios’ Inside Out (June 19, 2015), but we are already learning what to expect when it comes to Blu-ray in way of bonus features. In this case, it’s a brand new short set ‘in the world of Inside Out.’ Coincidentally enough, the latest trailer for Inside Out was also released today.
That news comes via a recent Variety article on ‘10 Animators to Watch.’ Among them: Josh Cooley. According to the bio that accompanies Cooley’s photo, it’s noted not only that Cooley has just finished directing the short, but that he has also been named as co-director of Toy Story 4 alongside John Lasseter.
