D23 Offers Free ‘Frankenweenie’ Screenings Nationwide Ahead of Film’s Release
Disney D23, the official fan club for The Walt Disney Company, has announced that it will be offering its members the opportunity to see Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie from Walt Disney Studios during the week of September 24 for free, ahead of the film’s official opening on October 5, 2012.
Metro areas included in the opportunity include: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Ft. Worth, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Tickets are free and will be available from Disney D23 on a first come, first serve basis beginning Wednesday, September 19 at 1 pm ET/10 am PT. Members will be allowed to secure one additional ticket for a guest. Times and dates of screenings vary between cities and are not yet known. Admission to the actual screening is also first come, first serve and is not guaranteed.
Although the event page does not mention it, it’s worth noting that when Disney D23 made the same offer earlier this year for Disney/Pixar’s Brave, it required an account on seeitfirst.net, so you may want to ensure you have an account on it and can access it in advance just in case.
For more information and to obtain tickets when available, see the official event page.

‘Frankenweenie’ ‘Lightning’ Clip, Ads Introduce Shocking New Footage
Walt Disney Studios has just released this new clip from its upcoming release of Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie. While New Holland seems like the picturesque town, it seems to attract more lightning than most locations. Could it be a result of the town windmill? Or is there more at play. In either case, in this clip titled ‘Lightning,’ new science teacher Mr. Ryzkruski (voiced by Martin Landau) explains to the class lightning’s rationale. But just what happened to the previous teacher anyway?
Also, from down under, we have a look at two new television ads for the film which contain quite a bit more animation, previously unseen.
Frankenweenie opens in theaters nationwide and Colossus will rise on October 2, 2012.

‘Frankenweenie’ Victor and Sparky Ad, New Hi-Res Stills
Via its YouTube channel, Walt Disney Studios has shared its latest ad for Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, which opens in theaters nationwide on October 5. They have also provided us with two new stills from the film which have been added to our gallery below.
A feature-length stop-motion remake of the original short film by Burton, Frankenweenie is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new ‘leash on life’ can be monstrous.

‘Frankenweenie’ IMAX Policy Trailer: It Came From the Audience!
Walt Disney Studios has just shared its IMAX policy trailer featuring Frankenweenie which comes alive in theaters beginning October 5, 2012. Inspired by the old black and white B film trailers of yore, the etiquette trailer also introduces a bit of new footage from the film, including a very cryptic message from Weird Girl’s ‘pet,’ Mr. Whiskers.
He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
The film stars: Charlie Tahan as Victor; Winona Ryder as Elsa; Martin Short as Edward Frankenstein, Mr. Bergemeister, Nassor, Victor’s Dad and Bob; Catherine O’Hara as Victor’s Mom, Gym Teacher and Weird Girl; Martin Landau as Mr. Rzykruski; Robert Capron as Bob; Atticus Schaffer as Edgar; James Hiroyuki Liao as Toshiaki; Conchata Ferrell as Bob’s Mom; and Tom Kenny as Fire Chief, Soldier and Townsfolk.

‘Wreck-It Ralph,’ ‘Frankenweenie’ New Hi-Res Stills
Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Studios have provided us new hi-res stills from their upcoming films Wreck-It Ralph (November 2, 2012) and Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie (October 5, 2012).
In the new still from Wreck-It Ralph, which has been added to the beginning of our gallery of stills below, Ralph and his fellow baddies are returning from a BadAnon meeting where the mantra ‘I am bad and that’s good, I will never be good and that’s not bad’ reigns supreme but does not seem to ring true for the would-be hero who’s seen here clutching the cherries he took after entering the Pac-Man game via Game Central Station.
In addition to the were-rat image we shared late last week, we also have a couple of new stills from Frankenweenie, both of which feature Sparky, one of them alongside Victor. Both images have been added to the beginning of our gallery below:

Walt Disney Studios has provided us with a brand new hi-res still from its upcoming film by Tim Burton, Frankenweenie. The still features Persephone, Edward ‘E’ Gore, Elsa Van Helsing and the Were-Rat (insert spooky audio cue here). We first told you about the were-rat when we discovered him and his merchandise at the ‘Art of Frankenweenie‘ exhibition at San Diego Comic-Con.The exhibition will soon be on its way to Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort from September 14, 2012 through November 5, where it will be accompanied by a special sneak peek at the film.
The new still has been added to the beginning of our gallery of stills from the film below:
