Walmart to Offer Exclusive ‘Frozen’ Blu-ray, ‘Disney Infinity’ Bundle

Disney 'Frozen' on Blu-rayMuch as it did with the Blu-ray release of Monsters University, bundling either a Mike Wazowski or Randall Boggs ‘Disney Infinity’ figure along with the 2D version of the film, Walmart has announced it will do the same with Frozen when it releases on March 18, 2014. Although no image is currently available (see the Monsters University items as a sample), separate listings for pre-orders have been put up for both Anna and Elsa.

Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade 2013 Details and Photos

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS PERFORMS AND HOSTS DISNEY PARKS CHRISTMAS DAY TV SPECIAL

Award-winning actors Neil Patrick Harris and Nick Cannon will join television anchor Lara Spencer in the holly jolly spotlight Dec. 25, 2013, to host the “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” television special. Harris, star of stage and screen, will host the telecast from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida while Cannon, who hosted last year’s “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade”, will head to “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort. Spencer, a lifestyle journalist and co-anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” will be the show’s special correspondent.

PHOTOS: Disney Celebrates 90 Years of Animation

With its 53rd animated feature, Frozen, under its belt and resting comfortably at the top of the box office, Walt Disney Animation Studios held a private party honoring 90 years of animation in the Walt Disney Studios’ Legends Plaza last night. Kicking off with a screening of Frozen, the cocktail reception was hosted by Robert Iger, John Lasseter, Alan Horn and Ed Catmull and counted numerous Disney legends, filmmakers, artists and voice talent amongst its guests.

ASIFA-Hollywood announced nominations today for its 41st Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year’s best in the field of animation. The Annie Awards cover 30 categories and include Best Animated Feature, Best Animated Special Production, Commercials, Short and Outstanding Individual Achievements.

Best Animated Feature, Frozen, Monsters University and The Wind Rises are up against Despicable Me 2, Ernest & Celestine and The Croods. Frozen and Monsters University also dominated with nine other nominations each in the following categories:

LISTEN: ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Performed by Idina Menzel in Entirety

Disney 'Frozen' Original Motion Picture SoundtrackThe Walt Disney Studios updated its award site earlier today and added the full recording to ‘Let It Go’ from the original motion picture soundtrack (available for pre-order via Amazon and iTunes) as it is performed in the film by Elsa (Idina Menzel).

It can be found at the bottom of the Frozen music page, which is also intended to highlight the score, composed by Christophe Becke (only the song by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez — which Disney hopes to score recognition for best song — appears to be currently available, however). It’s been posted to their site in OGG format.

WATCH: ‘Get A Horse!’ Disney Short (First Minute)

Get A Horse!

Courtesy of Walt Disney Studios Spain, we now have the first full minute of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ newest short, Get A Horse! Debuting in theaters on November 27, 2013 ahead of Frozen, the short — which has recently been shortlisted for consideration by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a best animated short Oscar nomination — features the original voice of Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney himself.

The black-and-white, hand-drawn short’s story follows Mickey, his favorite gal pal, Minnie, and their friends Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow. The gang is enjoying a musical haywagon ride until Peg-Leg Pete shows up and tries to run them off the road.

Walt Disney Studios UK (via Walt Disney Records) has released an extended clip from Disney’s upcoming film, Frozen (November 27, 2013), which features the full version of the ‘In Summer’ sequence as performed by Olaf in which the snowman ponders how wonderful his life might be during the hottest months of the year. The song — performed here by Josh Gad as Olaf — was written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez and can be found on the original motion picture soundtrack (available for pre-order via Amazon and iTunes).
